Bilbao Apartamentos Atxuri

Very overpriced and disappointing. We were here for a conference and the price shot up by 9 times the usual daily rate during our 6 night stay and was not value for money. The apartment needs upgrading and is very dated and dingy with only very basic furnishings and supplies. We only had one tiny lamp for our 2 bedroom apartment. There wasn’t enough toilet paper or any basic little supplies like tea/coffee, which is not acceptable when charging €580 per night. The shower is dated and the shower doors do not function efficiently. The washing machine broke and leaked twice which fortunately we were resident at the time and able to contact maintenance otherwise the apartment would flood. The reception desk was non existent and rarely found in the office even though it’s supposed to be manned all day. We repeatedly asked for several days for another key because we only received one in the lock box at the front door when we arrived and we needed two keys for our family as we are on different work schedules and it took 4 days for another key to be given to us. We met many other guests who were at the same conference and they all complained about the over pricing and the low value for money and lack of basic amenities. Kitchen and bathroom need an overhaul, apartment requires completely repainted, and furnishings replaced. Convenient location a few minutes walk from the old town. Building and apartment was clean. Housekeeping and maintenance team very helpful, professional and pleasant.

Initial interaction with reception staff not ideal. I chose the apartment because they say on their advertisement that they have parking. When we arrived they informed me they have no places available and for the 4 nights we stayed there was no parking available. This meant I spent hours every day of my holiday driving around the area trying hopelessly to find parking, usually ending up parked 20 minutes walk away from the apartment and in an area which really doesn’t look safe. Furthermore we asked in our booking for a cot for our baby which was not provided. The apartment was shabby and poorly kept with pieces of floor peeling and countless stains on the walls including mould. The the shower was abysmal, running hot and cold when I was trying to bath my baby and the shower head was disgusting. Will never come here again and I advise the sand to everyone else.

Nice and convenient

Convenient location close to the old city and the tramway direct to the Guggenheim museum. Appartements are well sized and convenient. Beds are to be changed soon and cleanliness could be largely improved

Apartment spacious. Very hot. No air-conditioning. Clean but at first glance. Floors not so clean. Dust on top of fridge etc. Chair fabric badly worn and coming apart. Set up confusing as one lift then a corridor to another lift. Garage convenient €15/night. Staff very friendly. Short walk to old town down a ateep hill.

Spacious, location is convenient. We had a good experience. I would recommend though, instalment of air conditioning.

We stayed in room 301 in July 2022 during the BBK Live festival. The matress of the bed was bad, curved towards the middle. We slept bad for 1 night and then asked for the matress to be replaced. The shower-cabin didn't close and the water in the shower didn't drain away. As the cabin was not properly sealed, the water went over and spilled onto the bathroom floor and into the living room. We mentioned this and they said they knew about the problem. Nobody came to fix it. Rather meager service for 140E/night.

Clean and comfortable apartment accommodation (my apartment matched the photos show) just a few minutes walk from the Casco Viejo old town area and 15-20 minutes walk from central Bilbao. The receptionist was friendly and no problems were encountered during my 3 night stay. Air conditioning (or some sort of fans!) would have been nice as the temperature hit the mid 40s during a heatwave. Walking to the apartments involves a short uphill walk but if you don't fancy this catch the Bilbobus 77 or 40 from stops in the city centre and around the old town (0.66€ when using a Barik travel card). Would happily stay here again.
