The Westin Birmingham

Definitely a note for travelers is to call way ahead for your valet car! It takes them 30 min at least to retrieve your car as a routine. Otherwise the hotel is great. Also be prepared for the local bike riders to harass you on the street if you are two women alone or alone. Be smart! We were followed as a mom and daughter. It’s not a place to explore outside the hotel. They have four restaurants right outside that are great choices.

Staff was exceptional. Very few selections for room service and some of those were not available late.

We have always stayed here when in Birmingham, and this was the first time we were disappointed. Our bathroom was not cleaned well at all… empty toilet paper roll, fingerprints and water spots all over the bathroom mirrors, dirty shower glass, and mildew on some of the shower grout. Then the next morning, they no longer have the restaurant available for breakfast. They have a coffee shop available, and suggest you walk next door to the Sheraton. The staff that was working were all very friendly.

Everyone at the hotel was wonderful. Staff was great. We stayed multiple days and housekeeping could’ve been a little bit better and it stunk that the food had to come from the Sheraton. I believe the hotel here was under repair. Will definitely book again.

Hotel could use some renovations Carpet was dirty in the hallways and shower had mold

The check-in process was not the best. As I arrived after check-in time, there were no rooms available, per the front desk associate. I was told I would receive a call when the next room was available I never got a call. I had to head to an event nearby within a certain time frame. After waiting for an hour I went back up to the desk to ask if there were any updates on available rooms. Only then was I told there was a room available. I believe if I had never gone to ask about the room I would've still been waiting. I booked this hotel due to it being in the same proximity to the event.

We booked a room from 4/17 to 4/19. First, it took 25 minutes to find us a room at check in on 4/17. Everything was going well on 4/18. We returned to our room around 4:30PM and went out for the evening around 6PM. We got caught in a rainstorm and returned to the hotel between 8:30 and 9PM to change and go back out, but we were locked out of our room. We were told that our reservation had ended on Saturday. It took 40 minutes before we were given access back to our room and the rest of our evening plans had been ruined. Otherwise, the room was fine.

You're paying for location. Valet was unavailable, and self parking is a nightmare. Upon check-in, my room wasn't available. It was stated it would be a hour later than the 4:00 pm check in time. Fortunately, I was able to placed in a room sooner. However, it was not the room I booked. The shower was stopped up, and the room wasn't as clean as I expected.

Great location.. although when we left, the streets were blocked off and had a terrible time trying to get out away from the hotel. It would’ve also been nice to have a trashcan in the bathroom and an extra set of towels
