Travelodge Birmingham Maypole

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and more than adequate for my night's stay. I would be happy to stay there arain, well done.

A simple , clean hotel . Traveller with car is good as parking is free and easy to access.

Really clean and affordable room

Parking in public car park behind the hotel is free for Travelodge customers as long as you input your car registration details at Reception - but beware, there is no information to this effect in the car park, and at Reception it states you have to input the details within 10 minutes of arrival into the car park. Hopefully we made it. Otherwise the hotel is great for the price charged. Nice room overlooking the roundabout road junction and a Sainsbury supermarket directly across the street. Tea and coffee facilities in the room. Pity that Travelodge insist on charging for WiFi access, not just at this hotel, it seems to be their standard policy. We paid for 48 hour access and it said that covered up to 2 devices but system would not let a second device register. Reception staff did sort out a second access code for us but clearly Travelodge need to sort out their WiFi system. No issues with bedroom, it was clean and comfortable. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are buffet style but food was good quality and hot. While we were there the pizza oven was not working and pizza appeared to be the main meal offering. It did not affect us (pizza is not my idea of a meal, to me it is a snack at a buffet) and the other light snacks available were of excellent quality. We were not hungry the first night and just had the basic option of 3 items for a fixed price. Intended to eat out on the second night but restaurant chosen was fully booked until 8:30pm, so we contented ourselves with a second meal in the Travelodge cafe-bar. Ordered double the quantity this second evening and again it was fantastic quality for the price. This will definitely be our go-to hotel next time we are in Birmingham, certainly if coming by car. Easy to find on the southern outskirts.

It was a okay stay and was a okay price. Didn’t get a good night sleep as the rooms were hot and the road was too loud to have the window open. The pillows where very fin and the bed was very hard and struggled to get comfortable

I stayed at Travelodge Maypole Birmingham and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. The bathtub in my room was damaged and visibly dirty, which raised serious concerns about cleanliness and maintenance. Staff interactions were equally disappointing—unhelpful, unfriendly, and more focused on passing blame between each other than resolving issues. There was a clear lack of accountability and professionalism. Additionally, the hotel is not particularly child-friendly or accessible for disabled guests. Despite booking accessible rooms, key features were either missing or poorly maintained. Disabled parking is located far from the entrance, and the room setup (e.g. low twin beds pushed together) was unsuitable for guests with mobility challenges A. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel for families or anyone requiring accessible facilities. The lack of care and basic hospitality was evident throughout the stay.
