Holiday Inn Express Birmingham–South A45 by IHG

The hotel was clean, staff were friendly, helpful and the breakfast was excellent. The room was already set up for us with extra towels, glasses for drinking, a table set up ready for my laptop. There was plenty of space including sockets for charging our devices. A nice open space area too where we could lay down a mat for the kids to play on. We were genuinely surprised with the room we got.

Stayed 4 days end of April on business. Stayed in plenty of IHG hotels, but never one quite like this. Some positives; Staff on the bar, night shift staff and the breakfast staff were all very helpful and pleasant. The food menu in the bar is very poor, with one of three options off it’d leave a lot of choice. My room wasn’t cleaned in the 4 days I was there, not even a bin emptied. Tried calling reception several times on day 3 with no joy, then went down to speak with them but there was a gentlemen in front of me with the same questions. No replacement towels, replenished tea or coffee, etc. The gentleman was informed by the rather abrupt reception lady; ‘If you want more tea bags there’s a Lidl over the road!’ ‘If you want fresh towels bring them down and they’ll be changed, all of this should be explained on check in’ Wow! It clearly wasn’t explained and to be honest for an IHG business hotel is this the policy? Parking is expensive if a non member I’d chose other hotels if visiting the area.

The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Kerry was excellent brilliant with the kids catered to every need. The breakfest was amazing thankyou Nicola good range of food and was cooked to perfection. Thanks for making us welcome.

I stayed here at the last minute. The rooms are very spacious. Great space in the disabled rooms. Breakfast was lovely, its nice to choose your own from the buffet style and a member of staff Sue was extremely helpful making sure I had enough room at the table for my wheelchair and checked on me during service which I found very caring. There was plenty of food and drink to choose from.

Me and my family came here for the very first time and all the staff welcomed us as like we were family. If you need any help with anything you can talk to Kerri or Jorgia they were running the front desk when we came. The rooms have great space and are very clean. The cleaning staff are very helpful when it comes to changing beds or giving us linen. Will definitely come again.
