I was really pleased to be upgraded on arrival, and that definitely set the tone for what turned out to be an overall enjoyable stay. The room was comfortable, clean, and perfectly decent, and while it wasn’t especially memorable in a dramatic way, it still made for a pleasant experience. I appreciated the upgrade and could see that the hotel was aiming for a good standard, even if it didn’t quite deliver a true wow factor in the room itself.
That said, for the price, I was a little underwhelmed by the lobby. It did not feel as impressive or polished as I had expected, and it left me feeling that the first impression could have been much stronger. The atmosphere in the entrance area was a bit flat, and it didn’t have the sense of luxury or energy I would normally associate with a hotel at that level.
I also found the first member of staff who assisted me to be rather unpleasant, which was disappointing. The interaction felt colder than it should have been, and I was surprised that water was not ordered for me upon arrival, especially given the standard I had hoped for. Small touches like that really shape the guest experience, and this one felt like a missed opportunity to make me feel properly welcomed.
Overall, though, it was still a good stay. The upgrade was appreciated, the room was decent, and I left feeling satisfied enough with the experience. It just fell slightly short of being truly exceptional, especially when considering the price point and the expectations that came with it.
