Stanley House Hotel & Spa

Beautiful hotel and wedding venue. Came for a wedding which was amazing! The service was great & super friendly from everyone, special mention to maddie! 10/10 would recommend this hotel for weddings . The food and drinks was so really nice also.

Stunning hotel, set in lovely grounds. Check in was seamless, efficient, and helpful, as it was our first stay we were even taken to our rooms. That service carried on with our trip to the spa. Brilliant stuff met us and showed us round. Very clean areas over looking a duck pond. Meal was good, and staff were attentive. Drinks a little slow to arrive perhaps the only ******. Room no 1 beautiful. Huge and spotless. The bed was so comfortable we almost passed out cold. Wonderful sleep, no noise over night and blackout curtains. Check out again all good with lovely friendly staff.The whose hotel also smelt devine throughout! Gym again very clean, and much better equipped than most hotel gyms! 💪👍

Wow! What an absolute delight to go and celebrate my birthday meal at Stanley House restaurant. The staff were outstanding especially the young waitress called HAFI she really was welcoming, kind and very attentive. She made sure my afternoon there was perfect in every possible way. A massive thank you to Hafi for making my day sooo special.

This was my second stay at the hotel for business in 6 months. I stayed in the old part first and then the more modern part. Both areas are nice, but the modern section rooms work a bit better than in the old house. Breakfast and bar service was OK rather than great.

We paid for “a taste of the spa package”. The spa is lovely and relaxing and the staff are friendly, however it is unfortunately let down by the awful service in the restaurant. Included in this package is a 2 course meal in Fred’s brasserie. We were the only people in the restaurant for about the first 30 mins, it took absolutely ages for orders to be taken and food and drinks to arrive, we actually ended up walking out before we had desert. It’s a shame as you pay a lot of money for this package. This unfortunately ruined our experience.

It’s a shame because the hotel is in a lovely setting and the staff are very helpful, it’s a bit annoying when you book into a hotel that has a spa it’s a bit annoying that you then have to pay to use the Spa you would assume use of the facilities not treatments would be included within the room rate as for one night it wasn’t cheap. And then to top it you have e to pay and go on every single item you have as you can’t book anything to the room as a resident once your card is authorized in most hotels you book to the room and then pay on departure not here ???

4 of us attended Stanley House on Easter Sunday morning for the spa, treatment and light lunch package. The staff in the spa were all lovely and helpful. The spa itself is small but enough for a couple of hours chilli out with a lovely view from the sauna over the gardens. We all enjoyed our 50min massages and our two course lunch with a glass of fizz. The thing that unfortunately let it down was the service in the bar/ restaurant! Not busy so felt the 3 girls serving was enough it just didn’t feel like they wanted to be there or enjoyed their jobs! Didn’t seem to be anyone in charge to direct them or pull them up on being more attentive, looking for eye contact from visitors etc The occasion was my sisters 50th and so I’d mentioned that when we arrived and was told they bring a little something out for her desert so we could sing. This (although we think was brought out from the kitchen and hidden out of my sisters view) did not materialise and after trying to get someone attention and my brother in law having to get up and walk to the bar himself twice ( one to order a 2nd glass of fizz!) we just gave up and left! We might of all had a pudding and were thinking of getting a bottle of fizz but didn’t as the basic customer service just wasn’t there so we spent that money else where later that afternoon.

I took my mum for a Mothers Sunday Lunch yesterday and to compare from previous experience it was not the same. The staff were nice enough but the service was a disappointment (is an understatement). The staff who served the food out didn't know what was on the dish, they don't have mint sauce to go with the lamb (don't think they even knew what Mint Sauce). The toilets were in a disgusting state that only one of the cubicles was usable, and they had no toilet rolls. I've reported to one of the staff but when I went back in to use it after lunch, still nothing was cleaned. The previous time I was here was for my wedding back in 2022 and the service back then was amazing. I was going to return here for my wedding anniversary this year but after this experience, but don't think I will. If the toilets and customer service are below par, it makes me think what state the rooms and other facilities are like?

Firstly, upon entering the spa changing rooms, we were dismayed to find them dirty, dusty, and unkempt. The showers were particularly unpleasant, as they were full of hair, which is both unsanitary and off-putting. Additionally, the temperature of the pool was uncomfortably cold, which significantly detracted from our enjoyment of the facilities. The sauna was also out of use. Our disappointment continued when we visited the Brasserie. The service was subpar, to say the least. Despite waiting for twenty minutes, we were unable to even order drinks due to being informed that they were either out of stock or the pumps were broken. This prolonged wait, coupled with the lack of available beverages, left us feeling frustrated and neglected. As this visit was intended to be a special treat for my sister and my mother, the overall experience left us feeling incredibly underwhelmed and dissatisfied. We had hoped for a memorable and enjoyable day, but instead, we left feeling disappointed and let down by the quality of service and facilities provided. I urge you to address these issues promptly to ensure that future guests do not have to endure similar experiences. It is essential for establishments like Stanley House to uphold high standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service to maintain their reputation and keep guests satisfied. I would appreciate it if you could provide a response to this complaint at your earliest convenience, outlining the steps you plan to take to rectify these issues and prevent them from occurring in the future.
