We stayed at The Shores for 1 week and thoroughly enjoyed the tropical gardens and direct access to the beach. Beach walks every day was a highlight for me and for my son the highlight was catching a fish on the first day we arrived. We stayed in a spacious villa which was fully self contained and we made use of the BBQ area and pools. We will definitely come back as there is so much to see and do in this region of Queensland, and the accommodation at The Shores is perfect.

This is a great little hotel and affordable. We stayed with our 3 children, they loved playing in all the different pools. Whole place was really peaceful. Love that the rooms were aircon as it was so so hot outside. Place was nice and tidy too.

We enjoyed the lovely pool and outside spa and the short walk to the beach, but overall our 3 night stay in the townhouse was disappointing. Both the single bed frames creaked loudly every time you moved which resulted in one person sleeping downstairs on the couch for 3 nights!! There was no shelf space to unpack, just hanging space in the main bedroom. The place could really do with a good spring clean as there is a moldy smell in the kitchen cupboards and main bedroom cupboards. There were no cereal bowls, so we bought our own and 2 extra coffee mugs as there was only one. Didn't manage to sit outside on the patio for long as the neighbors were smokers and we're not. Sorry, but we wont be back.

Stayed a week in the 2 bedroom deluxe villa. Nicole was more than accommodating for us. Having 3 children we needed a rollaway bed which Nicole brought down to us without issues along with extra pillows. Very spacious villa with plenty of natural light. Beds were quite comfortable. We stayed in villa 32 right behind the pools which was perfect for the kids. Direct beach access just past the pool and a really nice open bbq area with shade cloth. Very convenient kitchen which meant we could cook meals rather than having to buy meals each night. Laundry with washing machine and dryer. The spa bath was a hit with the three kids. Highly recommended and will definitely stay again on our next trip to Mackay. Thanks for a very enjoyable stay Nicole and family.

We stayed there 4 times over the last 18 months. Great location good pools nice large spacious unit, friendly mangers very helpful. Backs onto the beach, big barbecue area. Would recommend everyone to stay there.

We stayed at a 2 bedroom villa which was very spacious & private. Very quiet location with the beach at the back of the property for easy access for walks on the long beach. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to unwind & relax. Very well equipped kitchen with laundry as well.

Beautiful clean spacious apartment with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Great location right on the beach with pool area, BBQ area undercover, tennis/basketball court and large lawn area for kicking a footy. Great staff. Thankyou - will definitely try to book again next time

We stayed 5 nights in a Beach Villa, very large, airy and spacious, clean & bright, lovely lush tropical garden views, private patio space with chairs and table. We paid less for just 2 ppl as they lock off the second bedroom, & better value if you stay 2 nights or more. Good value compared with a motel. Beach Villas are the closest units to the beach access but have no view to beach directly, as the property maintains the natural coastal vegetation (good for birdwatching!), but beach is only 90 seconds walk from villa. Beach Villas look to the tennis court, pools and bbq, some kids played out on the grass & families bbqing & swimming, but it wasn't intrusive, and overall very quiet and peaceful (late August). Bit busier on weekend. Parking space outside every unit; it is a bit tight as others have said, but we were fine getting our large Everest 4WD in & could open doors fine to get things out of the car. Terry the manager was most helpful, from original booking, and for a couple of queries. Patio screen wasn't opening when we arrived but he got it fixed very quickly. Internet was a bit interrupted, even on our own mobile data, despite there being a mobile phone tower nearby. Good long walks along beach in both directions, numbered markers indicate where to come back thru to accommodation. 5 mins drive to big Coles, Woollies, post office, petrol. Easy drive into Mackay, 50mins to excellent Cape Hillsborough NP.
