It was a very cozy place to stay. Thanks to the friendly host, I was able to learn about healthy breakfasts and various tours. Bologna is a city that doesn't have much to see compared to other cities, so I only stayed for a day, but it was a comfortable place to stay. The breakfast that was prepared with care was excellent.

The city tax of 4 euros per day charged me 8 euros per day, why? I have been booking on your platform for more than 20 years and this is the first time this has happened. Please refund the overcharged money, thank you very much!

Location wasn't bad, but the service and quality of bed were poor for the price Bologna is a city that cannot be helped. Still the staff are friendly

Room is clean and the curtain on the bed gives nice privacy, though It would have been better if the lockers were bigger. Service is great, check out and check in was very easy. Chiara was as helpful and friendly as it gets. Location is amazing, juat a short walking distance to everything. Everyone was respectful and kept quiet at night, yet It wasn't hard to make friends especially during the shared breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

This hostel gets a 5 out of 5 vote from me and you won't find anyone as fussy as me when it comes to hostel reviews. I don't understand the mixed reviews it has been given by people staying here at the same time as myself? The staff are very friendly and help you as much as possible.....a special shout out to Ciara who is very lovely. My room was very clean and my bunk had a charging point, night light and curtain. The only minor problem are the lockers are small and square so you can't really get anything in them - they need changing to bigger ones! The meeting area is just a ten foot square area next to the reception desk with only around six seating places and likewise the kitchen area is also small with a single long table for breakfast that can only seat around twelve people at any one time. The main reasons for this is the hostel is small overall and also only has three shower rooms with the toilets housed within these rooms. This can be very annoying because if you're dying to use the toilet and all three showers are being used, you cannot gain access. The breakfast is substantial as it's an all you can eat comprising of tea, coffee and orange juice. To eat you have fruits, yogurt, ham, salami, cheese and salad. For the English pallet you have different cereals, toast, cakes, biscuits and the use of butter, jam and chocolate spreads. There's also a coffee perculator which can be used at anytime during the day. Within the kitchen there's a large fridge to store your own personal food items if you wish. You are expected to wash up all your items after you finish which is no big deal but something I don't agree with on principle. I'm on holiday and I've paid for my B&B so I don't expect to do their job for them - maybe that's just me? The location of the hostel is very good and within easy reach of the main city centre and tourist attractions with various buses a two minute walk from the front door and the main railway station just a fifteen minute walk away

I stayed for 3 nights and the Hostel is a nice Family Home adapted to an Hostel. Nice decoration, and reasonably good welcome, but not all peoplein the reception was nice.. Yet, breakfast was to short, and if you want to eat more will be difficult to get it.Rooms are nice, but tend to be a little bit noisy.. Its overpriced for what you get. Really can not understand why is so expensive! Location is good. Easy to find when you arrive from airport at nigt.

I have mixed feelings about this hostel. I do believe it’s the best hostel choice in Bologna. However, it fell short for me a few times. First of all, the city tax and any extras must be paid in cash. This was not advertised in any confirmation emails that I recall so I barely had enough for city tax upon arrival. I had to go to the ATM to pay for my towel rental. A heads up would have been nice so I could have ensured I had enough for all my extras I needed (my hostel in Rome lumped it in with the bunk credit card payment so that’s what I expected in Bologna as well). Secondly, although I ultimately had success, it was a struggle to get my laundry done. They advertise laundry service both on the website and on signs throughout the hostel, so I planned to have my laundry done at Dopa. When I asked the first day, I was told there wasn’t time (it was 4pm). The second morning I was told they didn’t have time (I asked at 8am). After I came back to the hostel that afternoon there was suddenly time for them to do my laundry so I took them up on it instead of scrambling to find a laundromat. My clothes were given back to me still slightly wet which wasn’t ideal for the €7 pricetag but I hung them on the hangers near my bunk to finish drying overnight. If laundry service wasn’t a guarantee I do feel it should be advertised that way (“laundry service as time & resources allow”). Otherwise the hostel was a typical hostel - loud, and a struggle to get into the bathrooms when you needed one (3 showers & 3 toilets shared amongst all guests). But the location was good & felt safe. And the staff did a great job keeping it clean, especially the bathrooms given how many people use them. If I was on a budget I would stay here again but I would prioritize a hotel first if possible.

Stayed there as a solo traveller and can absolutelely recommend. - beds have curtains (at least in the female dorm where i stayed) so you really have your own little space (even with a lamp and a plug to charge your phone!) - Staff very helpful with local tips - Just the right size to meet other travellers! It is not too big and there are plenty of communal areas. - good location within the city - the breakfast was really tasty! I expected italian style coffee & small sweets but there was fruit, and veg and cheese and everything. So really great value! (and also an occasion to meet other travellers at the hostel) So i really enjoyed my time and would stay there again if coming back to Bologna.

Bed are comfy, breakfast its nice considering the price you’re paying. Make sure to bring an eye mask and earbuds. The hostel allows late check-ins (until 11pm) which means you’ll be distrusted whilst you sleep as the just will turn on the lights to give a guide of the room. Unlike state in the website saying that it’s strictly prohibited to make noises at night time, this simply isn’t the case. People are generally not considerate and the staff puts little or no effort to ensure quite is kept during late nights as people hang out and are quite lout until late at night (in my case it was 12am). Be mindful that the lockers are extremely small. I could only fit in a small side bag in there. My laptop couldn’t fit in. If you can try and spend some more cash to get a better room which will allow you some peace and quite, well deserved after a long day of sight seeing. Despite being cheap the hostel should live up to the standards and guidelines they highlight to its customers (quite time at night time) and I personally don’t think this hostel is worth staying in and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone!

I stayed at Dospa Hotel for 3 nights and I can say that I felt at home. First experience of a Hostel with shared rooms. I was a little scared but in the end it was worth it. The kitchen and living room became places to socialize and I didn't feel so alone as I was on a work trip. Service, cleanliness, location, in short, I advise.

I stayed in a triple room for today. This morning I suddenly found my reservation canceled without any warning or reason, causing me great logistical and economic inconvenience. They didn't even bother to answer the emails or the phone. Terrible way of working

It was the first time for me in a hostel, I was a little scared I admit it, but I must say that this place deserves it... Central location, excellent cleanliness of both the bathrooms and the rooms, I was in a room for 4, the beds were comfortable, pillows ditto, I appreciated the possibility of having a curtain for more privacy. Maybe the price is a little higher than other hostels

I had never been to a hostel and like others I had the prejudice of finding unkempt or uncomfortable environments but this was not the case for Dopa Hostel! For those who like walking I recommend getting there on foot if you arrive from the station and crossing the beautiful Montagnola park which is located along the way, on Saturday mornings there is a huge market which goes from Piazza dell'8 Agosto and continues in the park . A valid alternative is to go, if you prefer, via dell'Indipendenza full of shops to go shopping and continue along via Irnerio to eat a delicious piadina at Piadineria Sole luna! The hostel is youthful and has both single and shared rooms where the beds are bunk but very comfortable, the rooms are really warm and comfortable! The shared kitchen space is really well looked after, there are always delicious natural herbal teas available. The included breakfast is both sweet and savory and the dessert prepared by the hostel owner is truly delicious!! The relaxation room is a very creative environment, with books, large sofas, a guitar and beautiful windows overlooking the avenue. Every day behind the reception on the blackboard you can find many interesting ideas about nearby places for all tastes! A truly stimulating environment in the center of Bologna! I will definitely be back!

I stayed at the Dopa Hostel for one night on my last trip to Bologna, I needed a place to spend the night before continuing with my trip and, for its price, this hostel seemed like the best option. Its location within the city is very good. It's easily reached within a ten-minute walk from central station and some of the city's main points of interest are within the same distance, making it ideal if you want to go sightseeing. Likewise, it is located on a street with different options of bars and restaurants. It is a small hostel but very well managed. I stayed in a four-bed room and the experience was very good. The bunk beds are very sturdy and have curtains for greater privacy (although, in my case, the widest side was still quite exposed to light because it only has a few bars), as well as a plug to charge your devices during sleep. evening. In addition, in the room you have a space to store your things and a small security closet (perhaps this is the only one I put in the accommodation, since the closet is small and you cannot store inside, for example, a laptop ). The bathrooms are separated from the rooms and I found them very correct, clean at all times and comfortable (the shower is very large, something that does not usually happen in other hostels). Breakfast is included in the price and I thought it was great: coffee, juice, milk, toast, fruit, cereal, yogurt... Very varied and in abundance, since they are replenished as everything is consumed. The kitchen, where breakfast is served, is small, but also cozy and, being a small hostel, it is difficult for it to get completely full. All the hostel staff were very friendly at all times, both Paris at the reception (who contacted me to find out what time I was arriving and to know if she needed to give me night check-in instructions), and the girl at the reception in the morning, who helped me during check-out. I couldn't enjoy the atmosphere of the hostel because my trip was fleeting, but it seems like a very good option if you are traveling alone, since many activities are offered both inside and outside the hostel. Without a doubt, an option to consider in the future.

The Dopa Hostel looks like a small treasure chest located just a few minutes from the historic center of Bologna, ideal for shorter or shorter stays. POSITION: excellent. 10 minute walk from the central station, 10-15 minute walk from Piazza Maggiore. Nearby there are numerous clubs and markets offering small necessities. The vibrant, nocturnal university area is located exactly between the hostel and the historic center. In front of the structure there is a bus stop that connects to different points of the city. Bologna is well organized in terms of transport. STAFF: excellent. I found the girls always very kind and with a good dose of problem-solving, available to meet the needs of the guests and ready to spontaneously have a chat advising on what to do, where to go, etc... BREAKFAST: good. In the morning from 8 to 10 a "basic" breakfast is offered with a decent selection of sweet and savory products. It is a breakfast that meets everyone's needs and is qualitatively in line with the expectations of the structure. BATHROOMS: ok. There are 3 bathrooms, I have not encountered any particular problems, in the morning from 8.30 to 10.00 they are busier, during check-in the staff advises against taking showers during this time, at the discretion of the guests. However, it remains a problem that I have encountered in all structures with shared bathrooms, so it is not a defect to be attributed directly to the structure. ROOM: ok. I stayed in a dormitory for 4 people, the space met my expectations, I found a couple of defects: the curtains to have a bit of privacy were not long enough and consequently their function was lost, after which they were next to my bed There were two large ventilation pipes running through them which emitted quite loud noises during the day. I sleep with earplugs so I didn't have any problems, light sleepers might have more difficulty. CLEANING: ok. Nothing to say about it, they were performed daily and periodically throughout the day. COMMON AREAS: excellent. There is a well-equipped kitchen where every guest can use it without problems as long as they clean what is dirty (as it should be), there is also a small living room where you can relax and listen to some excellent music. There are several pillows and electrical outlets. ATMOSPHERE AND SERVICES: excellent. The atmosphere inside is very pleasant, convivial and not at all intrusive. It's a hostel, yes, but also a great little family where you always find the opportunity to chat, advice, travel experiences and knowledge. I must say that I really enjoyed myself in this respect. There are also various optional services such as tours, cooking lessons, events, walks, city bikes, etc... SOME LITTLE ADVICE: if I have to recommend something to improve the structure... first I would put the
