I have lived and traveled across Asia for seven years. In all that time, I have never checked out of a hotel early because I felt uncomfortable. Until this place.
From the moment I arrived, everything was a hassle. The hotel never bothered to contact me in advance to explain how difficult it actually is to reach the property. I had to chase them myself just to arrange an airport pickup. Even that was poorly managed. On top of that, you are expected to tip someone to carry your bags from where the road ends, because the “resort” is a 10 minute walk away. This was never clearly disclosed beforehand and is completely unacceptable.
The room itself was a mess. The floor was covered in sand, the shower only produced lukewarm water, and there was a notice on the desk stating they only provide two bottles of water for the entire duration of the stay. I requested a double bed and still received two single beds pushed together. The bedsheets were visibly damaged and had holes in them.
Breakfast was an absolute disaster. The setup was chaotic and unhygienic. Tables were left dirty with used dishes, while staff wandered around doing nothing instead of helping guests get seated. The food quality was extremely poor. I can tolerate cheap food, but I cannot tolerate unsafe food. Their spaghetti, made with reheated ketchup, gave me food poisoning.
After eating breakfast there, I genuinely questioned whether this hotel would even pass a basic hygiene inspection. Several fridges in the breakfast area could not close properly. I personally saw a waiter open one of the fridges at the back, and it was absolutely filthy. Seeing that alone explains exactly why I ended up with food poisoning.
Egg service was painfully slow because they use a single electric stove with only three staff making eggs and pancakes, while five to seven other staff were busy standing outside calling walk in customers to come eat when there were no seats available inside. The breakfast selection itself was very limited and not worth the trouble.
The most ridiculous part is their so called breakfast fine policy. In Boracay, some hotels apparently fine you if you do not finish your breakfast plate. How exactly are you supposed to finish food that is terrible and makes you sick? Apparently the fine is double the price. Ironically, this breakfast was “complimentary.”
Yes, I got food poisoning. I tried to rest and recover, but even that was impossible. Despite having the Do Not Disturb sign clearly on the door, staff repeatedly knocked for room cleaning. When I finally opened the door, there were five to six staff members standing there asking to clean the room. This was intrusive, unnecessary, and completely disrespectful.
Then came the construction noise. I had already noticed that the elevators were not working, but suddenly loud construction noise started without any warning. This was never disclosed at the time of booking. The noise continued throughout the second day while I was still sick. I contacted reception and asked if they could reduce the noise. Nothing was done. The only quiet period was a 90 minute lunch break.
By day two, I had enough. I contacted Trip.com and explained that I was staying for five days but was already dealing with construction noise, food poisoning, and unacceptable conditions. I made it clear that I had completely lost trust in this hotel and demanded an early checkout. I left and moved to a proper chain hotel for only a few bucks more, with a significantly better experience and a much cheaper airport transfer.
This hotel is poorly managed, unhygienic, dishonest about its conditions, and completely lacking basic hospitality. I would strongly warn anyone to stay elsewhere.
