Hotels near Basilique Saint-Michel in Bordeaux

If you don’t have a car this place is not for you. It’s out of the way for public transport. There are quite a few restaurants dotted about within a five minutes drive but not really anything within walking distance. There’s a big shopping centre too with an Auchan for supplies. We had a car and used this hotel for a base for visiting lots of different cities, towns etc and was brilliantly located for us. The plentiful and free parking was an extra bonus. Check in was easy and staff friendly. Room was bigger than expected and clean. There was plenty of utensils, plates etc to use in the small kitchenette. Everything was a bit dated but in good order. The only two problems were that there was no shower curtain/screen and the fuse box on the wall had no cover so looked ugly. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was a good place to use as a base. Overall the place was perfectly fine for the price as long as you aren’t using public transport. Nothing special but worth the price paid

The hotel is beautifuly maintained, the staff is great. Continental reakfast at 10 euros is ok but fruits could be improved a bit. I was grateful that they were willing to go find me gluten free bread. Perhaps you could add a few more items to the continental breakfast. Guests should be aware of the location of this hotel. It is a long walk to downtown and while there is a tram within 15 minute walking distance, we did not feel very safe in this area. Not recommend you walk around after dark.

Convenient hotel for stay in Bordeaux when coming over with car. Hotel is relatively close to the city center, but still in the area where it's comfortable to drive and has secure parking located inside the complex. Facilities and room matches what you would expect in the price range of the hotel and staff is very friendly and helpful.

Globalement satisfait, MAIS il manque pour que ce soit encore mieux : Pas de bouteille d'eau dans la chambre à l'arrivée, c'est dommage vu le standing que l'hôtel fait prétendre Le jus d'orange au petit déjeuner est proposé dans une carafe mais il n'est pas pressé, il est INDUSTRIEL et ca c'est un gros loupé de votre part et encore une fois c'est dommage Côté restaurant, pas trop satisfait, vous avez une carte sur votre site qui ne correspond à rien à celle proposé et pas assez de choix, la carte est vaste, la qualité est douteuse et la quantité également. Nous étions 2 tables seulement dans le restaurant, nous avons attendu plus d'une heure notre entrée ! un petit bol de chips pour s'excuser du retard ... La propreté de la salle de bains est assez limite, le WC n'était pas propre et sous la vasque il resté des cheveux des clients précédent je suppose ... Nous reviendrons parce que globalement nous somme satisfait, mais il vous faut encore faire des efforts Le personnel est agréable et serviable, sauf peut-être une ou deux personnes qui étale leurs vie en pleine salle de restaurant , nous sommes maintenant au courant des problèmes de personnel, de changement très régulier d'employé, des horaires inadapté, enfin bref, cela laisse à penser que s'était volontaire que l'on entende cela dernier point, je trouve dommage de faire payé un parking, qui en plus est complet et sommes obligé de se garé dans de l'herbe et se salir les chaussures ! Le rapport prix/prestations/qualité n'est pas en adéquation.

Reception: English lady at reception was very assistive and pleasant. Room / facilities: Room number 608 is on the 6th floor and is an executive room. Not sure why it is considered executive, as it only appeared to be larger than other rooms (based on the floor, layout diagram on the entry door). We did not use the flat screen TV as there are virtually nil english speaking tv channels on French TV. The king bed is comfortable, but the 4x square European pillows are not to my liking. The executive room was not as clean as i would expect, as there is black mould in the clothes hanging space, a mop head is provided (no handle attached), the bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans have years of dust built up around the edges where the fan unit connects to the wall. The room walls badly need a paint and freshen up, as there are black marks on the walls from the bedside tables. Water streaks run down the bathroom walls. There executive room has no daily clean, obtaining fresh towels cost extra per request. Depending on your length of stay, to ask for the room to be cleaned floor vacuum is an additional €9. We saw the cleaner on our floor one morning, however after we returned after 4 hours, the floor hall way was not even vacuumed. The towels provided fell brand new, as the tags are not frayed, they smell and feel fresh from the store, UNWASHED.. I have to take the rubbish out. Our booking was for two persons, yet the hotel only provided 1x bottle of water, additional bottles were at a cost. The kitchenette has a bar fridge, cook top, microwave, cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, but no towel to dry dishes, no chopping board nor a plug for the sink. Well equipped kitchen MINUS the bare basics. You have to request a dish wash kit from reception, this dish wash liquid in the kit is as runny as water, does not form any suds and will only last 1 - 2 washes. Using the liquid soap in the bathroom was more effective. The bathroom has yellow coloured stains on the silicone around the base of the tiles, the shower tiles appear to be dirty and need a good scrub. This may be the design of the tiles. The toilet could use a good dose of beach or domestic cleaner (domestos) and a scrub to clean the “s” bend of the toilet, as there are black marks visible in the bowl. The studio apartment does have a self control air conditioning and windows that opens fully. The Air Con was on at our arrival and made it very comfortable to enter the room, after a hot walk from the train station. Laundry: None on site, but a Self service coin laundry with washers and dryers is a 2 minute walk on the street corner. Wash cost €5 for 8kg. Dry is available. Parking: I believe parking is available on site, for an additional charge, but this was not utilised during our visit. Wifi: Fast and reliable. Email address required for login. Breakfast: Available at an additional daily charge. This was not utilised during my stay. Conclusion: Great location as the hotel is 65

Comfortable, compact and clean rooms. Large bed. Close to airport. Quiet. Everything you needed at a reasonable price. Liked the key card drop off and coded gate as we had an early start. Bonus kettle in room nice touch

I was a bit worried because it was near the station, but the security was thorough with double doors, and the card key was continuously registered, so the security was great!! Willing to use one more next time

After storm Ciaran put paid to our Plymouth ferry crossing, we crossed to France at the crack of dawn to drive to our destination, Estepona. After driving 12 hrs in rain and hail we took a chance and booked the Ibis Styles Bordeaux Begles, en route as it accepted dogs, had parking and a kettle in the room. (Amazing how many hotels haven’t). Our expectations were no more than that. We found the recommended restaurant on-site was closed for Halloween and arrived dejected. However the receptionist, Zergane was a breath of fresh air! So friendly, so helpful and after settling in our room, ordered us takeaway pizzas whilst setting up-a table and organising our drinks! Good selection of wines by the way. We had a lovely evening. How things work out! The hotel itself is modern and clean (albeit easy to miss) and the breakfast was one of the nicest I’ve had in a long time. Freshly squeezed orange juice and a large selection of everything fresh you could wish for. So heads up to the staff and especially Zergane Hamza who, to his credit wouldn’t even take a gratuity. He’ll go a long way in his hospitality career and we wish him the best of luck.

The hotel's breakfast is good, that is, the variety is too small, the price is small, the hot chocolate is super delicious, highly recommended. The hotel is just opposite the high-speed rail station. It was chosen for the convenience of the train, but the surrounding security is normal and avoid going out alone at night.

The hotel is very clean, close to the tram and shopping. Very top! Nice staff and room with balcony offering an impressive view of Talence. Very good stay I recommend this apart hotel for a staircase.
