Amazing

The hotel's location is excellent, right in Back Bay, making transportation incredibly convenient. There's a shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel, and it's within walking distance of the train station. The views are great, with the Boston Public Library right downstairs, and shopping and dining are very accessible. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding comfortable, and the overall stay was very relaxing. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and both check-in and check-out were smooth. Overall, it offers good value for money, and the toiletries and coffee bar were also very good. The only minor downside was that there was only one chair in the room, which wasn't very convenient for two people.

Extremely satisfied! The room amenities were high-quality, everything was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent – super quiet. The gym facilities were also comprehensive. Upon arrival, there was an additional charge of $35 + tax, with a $20 credit given back for use at the hotel restaurant. The hotel restaurant served delicious food, and they also gave us a few complimentary attraction tickets. A very satisfying stay!

The hotel boasts excellent accessibility, being very close to Back Bay Station, where you can also catch the Orange Line. It's less than a 10-minute walk away. Just three blocks' walk will take you to the heart of Back Bay's commercial district, offering a wide array of restaurants, dessert shops, and shopping. MIT is also just 6 subway stops away, across the Charles River.

This Westin was a pleasant surprise on our trip. Boston's prices are high, especially on weekends, so most hotels were expensive. We settled on the Westin after weighing our options. Once we arrived, we found the location to be excellent, right on Copley Square, directly opposite the library and Trinity Church. It's just a few minutes' walk to the start of the Freedom Trail, and convenient for getting to the beautiful shopping streets and Chinatown. The room was spacious, simply furnished, and clean. The hotel restaurant also had good food, and the staff were very enthusiastic. When we checked out, they even called my daughter by her name to say goodbye. Highly recommended!

The location is excellent, and the price is reasonable. The $30 destination fee got us two $34 tickets to View Boston, two $10 tickets to Trinity Church, plus a $20 dining credit.

I rarely leave bad reviews, but this time it's mainly due to the hotel's luggage assistance service. After checking out, we waited in a long line for ages to store our luggage. Then, when I went to pick it up, I had to wait a long time again. I was getting anxious about catching my flight, so I impatiently asked the front desk where the person responsible was. Only then did a front desk staff member take my storage ticket to the luggage room and come out with the person in charge. I don't understand why storing and retrieving luggage is so complicated. Why couldn't the front desk staff proactively contact the luggage attendant when they saw the situation? It was really frustrating.

It's very convenient for going shopping. The staff will clean the room tomorrow and change towels and mineral water daily. There's no kettle, but you can ask at the front desk for one, though it costs 5 dollars. There are no disposable slippers in the room, so you need to bring your own.

Extreme disappointment in this stay.
First, there is a serious pest issue in the lobby. When I checked in at approximately 11:00 PM on August 20, I overheard another couple reporting a rat in the lobby. The front desk staff responded to them quite impolitely. Later, on Sunday night between 10:30 PM and 2:00 AM, I was working in the lobby and personally saw a rat running around for several minutes. When I reported this to the front desk, the staff member simply smiled and offered no response. The following morning, when I brought it up again while extending my booking, the staff claimed no one had ever reported a rodent issue, directly contradicting what I witnessed on my first night.
Second, I was assigned the wrong room type. I booked a Charles River view room through Trip.com at a premium rate. However, the front desk assigned me a city view room without informing me. I only discovered this error when I extended my stay. While I eventually received a refund of USD 50 per night after questioning the front desk, I would have been overcharged for an inferior room had I not proactively raised the issue.
Finally, I was shocked to find unexpected package handling fees totaling USD 200 (charges of USD 145 and USD 55) added to my final bill. I had three consecutive bookings during this stay, and the majority of my packages arrived during the periods covered by the first two bills, yet no fees were disclosed or charged then. When I questioned this upon checkout, I was told the fee is stated on your website and that the omission on the earlier bills was an oversight. Charging USD 200 for package handling is excessive, especially considering that competing luxury hotels in Boston, do not charge for this service.

The hotel is ideally located directly opposite the Back Bay Amtrak station, offering great views. My booking didn't include breakfast, but I received a daily $20 dining credit, which I could use at the Starbucks downstairs. The surrounding area is beautiful, filled with many Brownstone houses. We often walked to Newbury and along the Charles River Esplanade, which was very pleasant.

At midnight, the fire alarm went off, and everyone had to evacuate. We were on the 15th floor, woken up from a deep sleep, and had to run down the stairs to the first floor. We saw many other guests in the same situation, some didn't even have time to put on their shoes. Turns out, it was a false alarm at the hotel. And that was it – the hotel didn't offer any explanation or even acknowledge the guests' concerns. Thinking about it now still gives me the chills.

Besides the location, nothing else was good. The hotel is incredibly old; the light switches are manual and old-fashioned, the curtains are hand-drawn, and the toilet flush was broken – you had to close the lid for it to flush. The soundproofing is absolutely terrible. Chinese women in the next room were chattering loudly late at night and in the early morning, seriously disrupting my sleep. I suspect the front desk deliberately assigns people from the same country together. I asked for a room not too far from the elevator, but they intentionally gave me one far away, almost at the end of the corridor. I also asked for a slightly better view, but I got a pretty bad one, just looking at the rooftops of the building next door. This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in! Not recommended!

This hotel is fantastic. My river-view room offered a stunning panorama of the Charles River, the Old South Church, and the Boston Public Library right before my eyes. Getting around was incredibly convenient; many attractions were within easy walking distance.
