Absolutely stunning location, stayed in a Dragonfly log cabin, terrific view, really nice warm feel, more than adequate facilities, the log fire was a lovely addition. As anglers of a few years, love a new challenge and weren't disappointed, caught some great mixed bags, with a fair few fish adequate in weight to make a good weight if it was a match. Their was some big fish moving around and probably zoo creatures showing as the weather warms up. Had a lovely feel about it, given the right opportunity, would return.

If reading this and thinking of booking then please don't hesitate! It's wonderful! You won't be disappointed we were blown away by everything. The cabin was the Dragonfly and was absolutely spot on so clean and spacious the log burner was so good and warmed up quickly. The cabin had everything you could want even down to a lighter and some matches to light the wood. The logs were nearby to help yourself too. The view to the lake was beautiful and it was so peaceful we had a visit from the ducks too on our decking. The bed was so comfortable and the linen was pristine. Really couldn't fault it šŸ‘ŒšŸ» What a gem of a place āœØļø

We have just returned after a week stay at the pond. This is a return visit, as we loved it so much last time. The lavender lodge is just as lovely as the sunflower lodge. The owners are so friendly and very helpful. Although it was a bit cold we still caught a fair few fish. Amy was very happy to respond to any issues we had ASAP, and even checked in with us the following day. We will definitely be booking back here in the future. Such a peaceful atmosphere, good fishing and beautiful scenery. The town isnā€™t far from the pond and makes a good day out.

Just returned from a four night stay in Sunflower Lodge. This was a beautiful lodge, very clean and well equipped. My husband was pleased with fishing on the lake and caught about 50+ fish. This is our second visit to Lakeside and certainly won't be the last. A very relaxing enjoyable few days.

Hi, just wanted to leave a review as me and my partner have been and stayed here twice this year, once in the summer we stay in the ladybird pod which was amazing evrrything you could ever want šŸ˜„ upon arriving we was amazed by the place, so pretty. To then be amazed by the little pods thats are so cosy and homely we have had the pleasure of staying in both of them now . this time we stayed in the lillypad pod which was as great again. We have caught many fish on both our trips and really enjoy Our time there such a peaceful and chilled trip which we needed. Such a beautiful place also love the little ducks that pay you a visit throughout the day this used to really make me smile. We have just got back and already canā€™t wait to book again šŸ˜„ hereā€™s a few pictures of the fish we caught this trip overall caught about 6 carp up to 15 pound and some large bream.

Booked this holiday believing it to be a luxury lodge which in our opinion turned out to be average with not a lot of luxury included. Phoned on arrival as instructed and was told we could go straight up to our lodge, Sunflower, and to check with housekeeping that they had finished cleaning. Drove up and spoke to a very pleasant young lady who said lodge was ready and to go straight in. Unpacked and men went to veranda to set up their fishing gear, the purpose of the trip. Almost immediately my brother-in-law fell on the galvanised steel fishing swim which was extremely slippery even though it was dry weather, think it would have been worse in the wet!! Both men then decided to fish from the veranda but partly due to the extreme dry conditions the water was about 2 foot lower than normal and so found that to land a fish they had to go to the swim, consequently their lines were getting snagged together. Eventually my sure footed husband decided to use the swim and let my brother-in-law use the furthest opening in the veranda. Even he found it slippery and maybe a conventional wooden area would be better. In our opinion the veranda is unsuitable for fishing even if the water level was normal as landing the larger fish would be highly unlikely. There was also a missing glass door to the left of the veranda and the right hand one didnā€™t click open so we had to make a clip for it. The French doors to the rear of the lodge have no stays on them or any means of holding open and due to the windy conditions kept slamming shut which was somewhat annoying as it was also very humid. Getting back to my first comment, the lodge, although comfortable and spacious it did not have the luxury elements we usually have and have grown to expectā€¦ā€¦ Appliances were cheap, plastic kettle, toaster was ok but had not been cleaned out for a while. Cooker and oven were good but one of the rings wouldnā€™t stay lit.. cooked dinner first night and on laying the table found cutlery to be flimsy and mismatched, crockery was also somewhat marked and chipped. know this sounds picky but if you advertise luxury thatā€™s what you should get. Tea, coffee and sugar jars were all partially filled but teabags disintegrated when we made first cup, coffee was obviously old and had lost flavour and sugar canister had dirty sugar in where someone had used tea/coffee spoon in it!! Surely these things should be checked between visits. Another thing we noticed is that the cleaning was not 100% as there were quite a few cobwebs around and lots of dust on the small ceiling lights. (Photos attached) Finally there is a manhole cover to the rear of the property which was raised and extremely dangerous if unnoticed. During our stay we observed a duck with broken wing so I text Amy to ask for advice on local animal sanctuary but was told it cost a fortune to take duck to vet and as they are not their ducks they couldnā€™t help. I found this quite surprising as the website suggests they are wildlife love
