I stayed two nights at the Whitney Hotel. The two big wonderful things about this hotel is the location- right at the top of Charles Street in Beacon Hill and also its QUIET. My room was a King, the budget room, and faced the expressway. Despite this, I heard Nothing from outside. The room itself was perfection- very clean, lots of thoughtful touches, unlimited snacks, etc, etc.
The only two things that could have been better for me was 1) while the sheets were of high hotel quality (I’m a sheet snob), I prefer a firm mattress which this was not. It was the typical ‘memory foam’ sinking kind of mattress. Comfortable and I slept well, just not what I really like. But this is hotel standard, so mute point.
The second thing is while the free snacks were much appreciated, everything was sweet. Apples, granola bars, cookies. It would be great if there were chips, cheese and crackers as well.
One thing I Loved is the train station is right across the street.
All in all, the Whitney Hotel is a superb and very comfortable place to stay while in Boston.
