We are so lucky to have a revamped Public House in our neighbourhood with some really delightful staff. The several meals we have eaten in the past few months have been absolutely delicious. Thank you to everyone for making this a place where we can visit often and be sure of a great welcome. Looking forward to becoming a constant habitue.

We stayed 3 nights in the superior double room which was located to the rear of the main building. The room was comfortable, if a little compact and would benefit from less accessorization, given the limited space. Light sleepers may find the location of the hotel challenging as the railway could be heard clearly and the room vibrated with any heavy traffic. That said it didn't bother us. Servicing of our room was a challenge in that it was non existent. We had dinner twice in the restaurant and the food was fabulous with a wide variety on the menu to choose from. Breakfast was also excellent. Service could be a little slow. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and on the whole, a good experience.

I am delighted to be able to say that our night away from pets, teenager and elderly parent was excellent in every way. During our occasional escape trips, we have sometimes been impressed with a room, we might have enjoyed the food once or twice and on very rare visits to pubs and hotels the service has been above average. However, for the first time ever this accommodation ticked every box. The Northey Arms in Box is a pub with staff that actually seem pleased to see you. In this review I can write words for service that I thought would never again be used post pandemic. Efficient, friendly and courteous are three. The warm welcome everyone received on a cold January evening was infectious, creating a convivial atmosphere where everyone chatted and smiled. We loved it. The room too was not what we call a Marlborough pub experience. Instead it was comfortable, opulent, without being fussy, and a genuine treat. We were so impressed with the decor, especially the spacious bathroom, that we photographed the room and intend to steal some of the design ideas. I had read reviews that complained about noise, but the windows double glazing cut out most of the sounds from passing traffic and there was definitely not a peep from the kitchen’s extractor fan. I would advise everyone who manages pubs and hotels to spend some time at this establishment. You could learn a great deal.

We booked to spend our New Year’s Eve at the Northey Arm’s. We were not disappointed.it was really special. Exceptional, and happy staff who were very attentive and friendly. The tasting menu was delicious and beautifully presented and we didn’t feel rushed in-between the courses. We were entertained by a highly professional Magician, who came to our table. We were blown away by the tricks that he performed that were truly magical to witness close up. At the end of our delightful evening’ we asked the manageress if it was possible we could speak to their Chef to thank him and his team. He was very appreciative and said how pleased he was that we enjoyed the evening tasting plates. This is a fabulous pub that has been recently refurbished by Butcome Brewery, with wonderful staff who are passionate about caring for their customers. Thank you all for a brilliant evening, PxP

I Own my own holiday accommodation business and have high standards with fantastic reviews and I have always said even if really nice it’s always the little things that matter and the Northey Arms deliver in every way. We arrived at 745pm with no booking tonight 6th January 2024 and said to the staff on shift we would like a family room and would like to eat as had a very long journey. This is the difference between staff that don’t care and staff that go far and beyond and these guys certainly went far and beyond. House keeping were away so staff went and made sure our room was all ready and perfect for us as we needed a family room so an extra bed had to be made.our room is awesome (very clean and modern with some nice finishing touches) even though the restaurant was going to close they got us seated with menus and I have to say the quality of food was outstanding. Like I said it’s a all round effort that makes the difference and the staff here made the difference so a big thank you to you guys. We come to Bath a lot these days as our daughter is studying down here so now don’t have to look for anywhere else to stay as I will be booking at the Northey Arms but will book before I get here next time lol Well done STAFF TEAM at the Northey arms Stephen Conroy

The room was directly above the kitchen extractor fan; which was definitely on all night. It hummed and it hummed all night through. The room was hot and the windows didn’t open much. However, this made no difference to the sleep quality as the humming from the extractor fan got louder. There was no curtains only these shutters which shut out any air that could get in if closed. I have a video of the extractor fan being on during the night as was up most of the night; in fact left more tired than when I arrived. Had to leave at 7.30am no breakfast offered. Photo shows window of room and where the extractor fan is below on the kitchen. Room is above the kitchen

Pleasant stay in a smallish room that could do with a renovation and a new carpet that is currently stained, though the en-suite is a decent size and in decent condition. The staff are excellent and the food good and substantial.

What a great place, well appointed en-suite, service 2nd to none, has all you'll need including an iron. Quirky place, easy parking, bar, gardens and well priced

We were in the purpose built block at the back. The bedroom and bathroom were both very spacious, and generally comfortable. No noise to speak of, just the occasional train (GWR) for a few seconds. We did have an issue with the shower: the only choices were very hot, or boiling. I like a warm shower, so I'm afraid I was out of luck. We had dinner there which was excellent. The breakfast was also very good, although my wife's sausage looked like the chef had run past the frying pan with it, lol! All staff were very pleasant and helpful. I'm hoping that the issues I've mentioned will be addressed, and on that assumption I will be booking again. Overall good value considering the close proximity to Bath.
