Lunch at this revamped premises into a very smart hotel establishment. It has gone through various metamorphosis over the years. Was a public house during WW2 frequented by personal from RAF Crosby, now Carlisle Airport. The menu is on their website; it appears to be somewhat expensive with for example soup at £10… Had the beef dish with mash & green vegetables. Very tasty indeed. The service was friendly & efficient during a quiet lunchtime period. Will definitely try it again when visiting the area

Got a phone call cancelling the event because did not have sufficient bookings .Too late to book anywhere else .What a let down . Dont waste your money here just move on and find a venue that wants your custom .PS you could still book this event on line even though it was cancelled......what a shower !

Absolutely stunning building. Met at reception by a most helpful girl who took us to our table in a lovely building warm and friendly surroundings. A bit of waiting for drinks order. However additional drinks were quickly ordered when required. A very nice menu Mushroom starter was lovely. Main course is varied and all had different things and all enjoyable. Waiting staff are smart turned out and very helpful. The place is very clean and comfortable. The car park is large with a good number of electric charging points if required. It wouldn't be a nice place to stay as the building fresh and clean, although I did not stay the night.

My wife and I were there for a birthday celebration and we were blown away with the quality of the hotel and fittings. When it was time to move into the restaurant we were shown to a table in an alcove which was first class and the staff couldn't have been nicer if they tried. When it came to the meal itself everyone said that their meals were excellent, but unfortunately I had to differ as the 'Blade of Beef' that I ordered wasn't great, it had strands of fat running through the meat which I didn't like and the 'Bone Marrow Gravy' wasn't to my liking and it left me with a poor taste in my mouth after the meal. We will certainly look to eat there again in the future, but will stay clear of the 'Blade of Beef'.
