I booked a deluxe king room, and the lovely lady at the front desk assigned us a room on the 29th floor. The view was expansive, bright, and open, and the room itself was clean and tidy, with everything well-prepared. The bathroom was spotless, and the bedding was very comfortable. The large sofa running along the window was a fantastic touch. After a tiring day of traveling, arriving at this grand hotel instantly revitalized me. It was simply amazing!

The hotel lobby and entrance are very impressive and elegant. The location is excellent, making it convenient to get to Xintiandi, Jing'an Temple, and The Bund. It's also right next to Shanghai Station but isn't noisy at all.

The breakfast offered a rich variety of dishes with authentic and unique flavors – definitely great value for money.

The room was great, and the bathroom, bathrobes, and towels all felt luxurious. The Executive Lounge was a bit underwhelming – limited seating and not much good food. Breakfast, however, was fantastic, with excellent food and service. The concierge, an older gentleman, was incredibly warm and dedicated, which was really touching. It's a shame I didn't get to try the pool. On New Year's Eve afternoon, there seemed to be a shortage of staff at the front desk, leading to a bit of a wait. It's also a bit of a walk to the actual subway entrance, which felt far after a long journey from the airport.

The Intercontinental Wonderland Pit, one of the world's top ten architectural wonders, is definitely worth a stay. The cliffside scenery is truly unique, and the view from the balcony is fantastic. Bruce provided excellent and attentive service, responding quickly to any requests. The light and drone show at night was particularly impressive. The outdoor adventure park next to the hotel is a big hit with kids, and the bungee jumping and cliff swing are incredibly thrilling.

During the Chinese New Year, twin room options in Shanghai were limited, but we needed to book two twin rooms, and importantly, we didn't want sealed windows. The InterContinental Shanghai Pudong perfectly met our requirements. Located right in the heart of Lujiazui, the hotel boasts an excellent location with convenient transportation.

The service, as always, was outstanding. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, and the restaurant and room services were also impeccable. Even with a minor issue, the hotel was quick to respond, truly making guests feel respected and valued. I highly recommend booking your room with breakfast included. The variety is rich and comprehensive; booking it separately at the front desk costs 186 RMB, so including it in your room rate is a great deal.

I must commend both InterContinental and Trip.com here. I initially forgot to add breakfast to my booking, and it was a non-modifiable, non-cancellable reservation. Thanks to the hotel and Trip.com for providing a perfect solution that allowed us to enjoy breakfast smoothly.

My only small suggestion is that it would be even better if the breakfast offered a few more Shanghai local specialties, such as 'shengjian' (pan-fried buns) or 'suji' (mock duck).

Sometimes last-minute trips bring the best surprises. My stay at the InterContinental Ruijin was a wonderful experience. The hotel's ambiance is beautiful, and the staff's service quality is excellent. Even though my stay was only for two days, I had the pleasure of encountering Martin Yang, Chris, and Jerry, who provided outstanding service and assistance. It was a truly fantastic travel experience.

Celebrated my parents' birthday here, and they surprised us with a birthday cake – what a lovely unexpected touch! The experience was fantastic! Jennie from Guest Relations was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout. From reserving the perfect room to recommending dining options, her service was patient and thorough. I've already recommended this place to friends. Definitely a five-star rating!

We traveled as a multi-generational group with both seniors and children. Overall, it was a truly comfortable family trip.

I booked the hotel a month in advance on Trip.com and added the butler's WeChat (for holidays, I recommend booking early so you can check in directly upon arrival and avoid long waits during peak times). We didn't rush or make a strict itinerary; we just relaxed and enjoyed ourselves, and everything felt so gentle and pleasant.

Upon entering the room, the hotel had scattered rose petals on the bed and made a cute little dog out of towels, which the kids loved.

One room overlooked the lake. The rustling sound of the wind through the leaves made everything feel so worthwhile.

For Qingming Festival, the hotel organized parent-child activities. It wasn't crowded or noisy, allowing us to quietly accompany our children in making coffee grounds sachets. The faint scent of herbs helped us all relax and calm down. We also kneaded dough to make Qingtuan (green glutinous rice balls). Watching the kids' serious yet clumsy efforts filled us with a small sense of accomplishment. The hotel staff even steamed the Qingtuan for us, and they were hot and delicious right out of the pot.

In the afternoon, we rented bicycles and leisurely rode along the lake. The gentle breeze was neither too cold nor too hot, making us feel completely refreshed. By the rockeries along the lake, many small plants grew. We slowly identified them with the children: tender yellow winter jasmine, patches of clover, speedwell, and bridal wreath quietly blooming on their branches—unassuming but incredibly lovely to look at. Both seniors and children could stroll leisurely, without feeling tired or bored.

Just 1.8 kilometers away by car was 'Yi Chi Garden', not far from Tuhu. We needed to inflate our tires, so we conveniently walked about 480 meters to Yi Chi Garden for afternoon tea. (If you're planning for a full meal, I recommend getting a queue number 2 hours in advance).

Sitting by the lake, enjoying a coffee, and resting our feet perfectly filled a period of leisurely time.

16. The hotel itself has a very tasteful design; everything feels comfortable, making you feel relaxed and perfect for a vacation. The macarons in the lobby are delicious; you can find discounted prices on a certain review platform, where you can buy three for half the price.

We happened to be there on a Saturday, so there were fireworks in the evening. It was quite a spectacle. The infinity pool area is great for photos, but watching from the lakefront is windier, so be sure to dress warmly, but the view is even better. The children's eyes lit up, and the seniors smiled as they looked up. The whole family stood there, watching the fireworks light up the night sky little by little, then gently fade. At that moment, I suddenly felt that a good vacation doesn't need to be overly spectacular; it just needs the seniors to be at ease, the children happy, and for oneself to feel relaxed.

In summary, this trip was suitable for all ages, quiet and peaceful, yet full of small delights everywhere.

Oh, and the travel photography package included 3 free photos. With two rooms, that's 6 photos, plus a short video. I thought the group purchase price was very good value.

Our butler, Xiao Ai, was very responsible, and all the staff were exceptionally polite.

The Chinese restaurant's food was decent, nothing spectacular. If you find the prices a bit high, you can walk across the street from the hotel entrance where there are many other dining options. We didn't try the Western restaurant this time. Breakfast was also decent, meeting the typical InterContinental standard.

Overall: Recommended.

I went there to attend an exhibition at the end of November 24. The beautiful waitress at the front desk arranged for us to stay on the same floor. The rooms were next to each other and the service was in place. The overall facilities were complete and very clean. I could fall asleep without drawing the curtains at night and looking at the night view (I felt that this was the meaning of making money). Next to it was a large supermarket where I could buy all kinds of daily necessities and choose gifts. There were endless taxis when I went out, and the waiter at the door would help you call or intercept them, which was great. The breakfast buffet was also very delicious, with food from various countries and regions. BTW, the egg rolls they made were delicious.

The hotel is located at a good location, close to JBR and there a few restaurants and supermarkets located within walking distance! 
 
Most of the staff are very nice and helpful, other than the lady who checked us in! She talked us into upgrading our room to the resident side with a balcony but failed to mention without a bath tub! She didn’t tell us until we already paid for! Now we are stuck into waiting for the whole refund process! 


As for the room we stayed in… the junior suite! The view is still very nice, still can see part of the marina! However, the room is very very dark! It doesn’t have enough lights! 
I can barely do my makeup at night even with all the lights on in the room!  

The bed was too soft for us but apparently you can ask the housekeeping staff to remove some topper to make it more comfortable! However, I do suggest you to bring your own pillows if you want decent sleep! They are way too soft! 

The hotel itself have very limited restaurants! One is the main restaurant located at the lobby! Breakfast options are decent! Another one is located at the 1st floor, is an Italian restaurant called Papa’s the food are amazing and delicious! However it is not part of the restaurant group!

I really liked everything, especially in the evening. You don't have to go anywhere, you can just sit on the embankment. The view from the pool is amazing!

I recently stayed at intercontinental residence suit for four nights and overall, it was a delightful experience. The hotel is a bit far from major attractions and public transport, but if you rent a car (which you most probably would) it's not an issue.

The staff at were friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with a smile. Check-in and check-out processes were smooth and efficient, adding to the hassle-free experience.

The room was clean. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. Amenities such as the flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, and complimentary Wi-Fi were much appreciated. However, the Wi-Fi was rather slow and there were no electrical outlets near the beds, so we had to ask the front desk for an extension cord, which they kindly provided.

One of the highlights was the hotel's on-site restaurant. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious options, catering to different tastes and dietary needs. The dinner menu was equally impressive, with high-quality dishes that showcased the chef's skill.

However, there were a few areas where the hotel could improve.The bathroom was very spacious, but the toilet was very close to the wall. The bathtub had a huge margins which made getting in and out very difficult and dangerous, since there was no handle to hold. The shower also was so close to the wall which considering the huge margin of the tub and the slope of the tub made taking a shower an unpleasant experience.

The hotel's common areas, including the lobby and pool, were well-maintained and inviting. The pool area, in particular, was a great place to relax, though it did get quite crowded at times.

In summary, intercontinental residence suit offers a solid 4-star experience with excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and a convenient location. With a few minor improvements, it has the potential to be outstanding. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit to the city.

Summary: Highly recommended for families with kids! This is the ultimate parent-child hotel in downtown Shenzhen! 

Facilities: It boasts a non-powered amusement park, a carousel, an indoor swimming pool, an outdoor water play area, an outdoor sand beach, and a mini-train! You can even get free fish food from the restaurant to feed the koi! Kids can easily spend two full days here without getting bored!

Room: The front desk saw we had two kids and upgraded us to a two-bedroom apartment. It's incredibly spacious, with three bathrooms, a kitchen, and a living room. There's even a washing machine (perfect for spin-drying swimsuits after water play or drying wet clothes)! Absolutely perfect!

Buffet: The package included two buffet meals: breakfast and dinner. For breakfast, you can pick your own fruit in a little basket and have the staff make fresh juice – that alone is unbeatable! Compared to other five-star hotels, there are so many made-to-order options for breakfast (even more than the pre-made ones), plus freshly steamed rice rolls, a Guangdong specialty! The dinner buffet selection isn't huge, but they have oysters, shrimp, crab, sashimi, lamb racks, and pan-fried beef, all of excellent quality! The desserts were especially festive, as it was Easter!

As an IHG Ambassador, this was my first stay at an InterContinental, and while the location in Shenzhen is a bit out of the way, I understand why—it's clearly catering to the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center and Ice World. It's not really comparable to the InterContinental OCT or InterContinental Dameisha. On the plus side, the facilities are top-notch, and breakfast was indeed excellent. I did have one small question: I renewed my IHG Ambassador membership at the front desk, so shouldn't I have been upgraded directly to a suite?

From the very first moment, this hotel stole our hearts. Perched right on the seafront, the location is nothing short of magical. Waking up to the sound of waves, stepping onto the balcony to watch the sun rise over the water, and having the beach just steps away — it made every morning feel like a dream. For a family vacation, it simply doesn’t get better than this.
But what truly made this stay unforgettable wasn’t the breathtaking views or the luxurious rooms — it was the staff.
After checking out and heading home, we realized our son’s beloved teddy bear had been left behind in the room. Before we even had a chance to panic or call the hotel, they reached out to us first. A kind team member contacted us to let us know they had found it and — without us even asking — offered to send it directly to our home.
I cannot overstate how much that gesture meant to us. To a little child, a stuffed toy isn’t just a toy — it’s a best friend. The fact that the staff understood that, took the initiative, and handled everything with such warmth and care says everything about the culture of this place.
This is what separates a truly great hotel from the rest. Not just the marble lobbies or ocean views, but the people behind it all — the ones who notice the small things and go out of their way to make them right.
We will be back, without a doubt. And this time, we’ll double-check the room before leaving! 🧸
