I visited Switzerland in October this year , and was in Lake Brienz for 5N/6D itinerary ; During my stay we explored the entire Interlaken area, but this review is only for Hotel Lindenhof ; We booked this hotel based on Online Photos by visitors and reviews therefore I would like to add my views for future travelers - for everyone's benefit ! Pros and cons are as follows - 1. This hotel gets full marks for it's location - just picturesque !! The photos that you probably see in the Net are true , and once you are there maybe you'll like it more 2. Rooms are tidy and neat - most of the rooms are Lake facing , which means you can enjoy the views from you room - for extra mullah of course , Otherwise you have to go out and sit in the attached Cafeteria , or Outside - but that's not possible in Autumn or Winter , it's too cold outside ; So choose the rooms depending on the weather . Rooms with Balcony are approximately 240 CHF per night for a double bed, including breakfast. 3. Service staff are helpful , in general , though , if you are coming from India like we did then make sure you discuss your plans clearly in the reception - usually some young girls are there , but all are helpful nonetheless. If you have special requirements like Wheel Chairs then discuss with the before booking - remember this hotel is on a small hill top and on the slope , you can't walk up to the Hotel , they will need to pick you up from the station . And drop you back again to the station for your day trips - so this is a critical point , and creates a dependency on the Hotel. However these pick-ups and drops are free of charge - at least they didn't charge us so that's good !! 4. And there is the Achilles's' heel !! the pick-up and drop are not always well coordinated , sometimes you have to wait long for your pickup ; There are couple of occasions where they missed the pick-up and we had difficulty calling them in local Swiss Number - maybe issue with Phone lines , but when you're on a trip to a foreign country , help is not easily available all the time specially in Lake Brienz , where the town gets empty by sundown . 5. The Breakfast is same every day and monotonous - there's not much variety is Swiss Food , unless you are someone that can eat Fondue each day !! The restaurant has lots of Asian Menu , and 3 Indian Menu - Dal Makhni , Butter Chicken , Naan , and one more that I forget - Preparation is Ok types , but I don't expect Top Grade Indian Food in Switzerland - however their Asian menus (Chinese and Japanese) are really good - the Prawn Fried Rice is worth trying ; Price of food is always on the higher side everywhere in Switzerland - in this hotel average cost of a dish is around 22-25 CHF ; For two persons its average 60 CHF- if you want to eat Hot Food at Dinner - then this in-house Cafeteria is the Only Option - all other eateries are miles away , best is to eat in Interlaken maybe if you're there - Or anywhere , and then come to Hotel for rest
