Amazing location and beautiful boutique hotel! Room was large and extremely comfortable with a big bed. The only slight downside was the bathroom was very cold (we were there in December) it was a large bathroom with one small tall radiator which sadly wasn’t capable of heating the room and the shower was open sided which meant you just couldn’t get warm when in it. But other than that wonderful hotel with such friendly staff and the spa was a great experience too. Would highly recommend!

We loved our stay here and wish we could have stayed more than one night! The spa is an extra £10 per person for an hour of use, which is well worth it. The breakfast is good quality and the room was very comfortable.

The room at ground floor is quite old and small. No window and using old door key. No space in the room. The Spa is located in basement with stream room and sauna room. Small swimming pool.

Overpriced and not worth it I stayed for my sister’s wedding. I have never spent so much on a hotel room so was excited to be somewhere I thought would be really posh. I was disappointed and will not stay again. I tried to check in slightly early so I could check in before the wedding. I was dismissed quite quickly and told they were busy. No effort was made to take my number to let me know when it was ready. I also wasn’t told the latest time I could arrive. I left the wedding reception and came back to check in and was glad I had as the desk was unmanned when the wedding finished. The bed was comfy but the room was tiny. There was no natural light as the windows were darkly frosted. It made it very difficult to see to apply makeup. The coffee machine needed setting up with water and there was no jug in the room to do this. Throughout the hotel, the carpets were covered with stains and everything was looking a little tatty. Throughout the stay there were also piles of clean and dirty towels and sheets throughout the corridors. I would have expected - for the price of the room - to have a decent breakfast included so was shocked to discover I could only have a continental breakfast and had to pay extra for a cooked one. I did pay for this and it was quite small and I needed to eat again quite shortly after. My parents were also staying in the hotel for the wedding and were appalled when they got back after the reception to find human faces outside the lift on their floor. Would not recommend at all.

Noise from kitchen pump prevented sleep Pump noise from kitchen prevented sleep. It is a known issue and it should be fixed rather than subjecting guests to the intermittent loud noise.

Great staff but facilities tired Staff were amazing and very helpful but room and gym very dated and tired. Carpet was stained and furniture like bed side table has tatty corners. The windows in the room didn’t open, and no natural light as room faced a wall and windows were frosted so it felt very dark and miserable even in the day. Limescale building up on edge of shower doors. Floors in communal areas very dirty. Treadmills in gyms were not working properly and had ripped belts. In all not what you’d expect for the level of hotel but the location is excellent however. Evening meal was not great either although the service was wonderful but they had no mussels available, no non sparkling wine list in the drinks menu and cod dish was very over salted.
