We had a wonderful stay at this charming B&B. Michael and John are amazing hosts. We stayed in the Rembrandt room which was quite spacious and unique. The location is absolutely perfect for exploring the center of Bruges. Very quiet at night and comfortable bed. And the breakfast each morning was spectacular in a beautiful setting. We will return here again on our next trip to Bruges!

Perfectly positioned a short walk from the station, but also in the historic city and 5 mins walk to the centre! Large beautifully restored rooms, we had three as with friends and all amazing, with en-suites. Lastly the host and owner simply can’t do enough to help, guide and make your stay perfect. Don’t hesitate and book here!

We both had a fantastic 3 nights here, John and Michael are the perfect hosts and provided a level of service beyond anything we had experienced before. They made our stay very special and we couldn't fault anything at all. The location is perfect, being a short stroll from the train station and on a lovely quiet street but it is also right near the centre so everywhere is easily walkable. Breakfast was a real treat and so plentiful that we always left completely satisfied and full up! Highly recommended if you are planning a trip to beautiful Bruges.

Reception - Welcomed by John, into his absolutely amazing home. He gave personal recommendations for restaurants, trips and sights in the city. Location - walking distance to everywhere. 10 minutes from the railway station Room - Large and spacious, with coffee machine! Walk in shower. Huge comfortable bed, extra pillows were in the wardrobe. The room we stayed in had air conditioning if required Breakfast - served in a beautiful room, nothing was too much trouble for John. Eggs and bacon were delicious, breadbasket was plentiful, great coffee John is the most incredible and welcoming host, it seems like nothing is too much trouble for him.

Michael and John were excellent hosts who gave very helpful information about the area. The building is grade one listed and they are doing a wonderful job of preserving it. Would highly recommend a stay here, both for the quality of service and location.

This is an elegant boutique hotel on a quant, quiet street in the heart of Bruges. The photos don’t do it justice - it was formerly a chapel that has been meticulously restored. The proprietor, Michael, is charming and could not do enough to make sure we were comfortable. Murals and frescos have been restored in the breakfast room which has a vaulted ceiling and overlooks a small garden. Breakfast is served to order, including fresh fruit and yogurt, eggs, salmon and delicious bread and pastry delivered daily. The beds and pillows are comfortable and the bathroom was updated with all of the modern amenities. This is a gem!

We've just returned from a wonderful few days staying here. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome. The hosts were so accommodating and thoughtful. Michael gave us many recommendations including restaurants off the tourist trail which were excellent. The room we stayed in was large, clean and incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was great and set you up for the day. The location was in easy walking distance from the train station and all of the sights. I would definitely recommend staying here.

After several years of absence, we have again stayed in the Huis t Schaep. The property is well kept. The building becomes 400 years in 2024. It is nice to feel the rich history, wonder about all the people who have been connected to this place. The rooms are beautiful. The owners have taken great care of the fact that it is a historical building. You can see and feel the attention to details, the respect for history. The furniture if matching perfectly. The family is very pleasant and want to ensure that you have a nice stay with them and in Bruges. For us, it was nice to reflect on the age and the not so easy rebuilding of such a place. It takes dedication and knowledge to restore such a building.

Absolutely first class from start to finish. The accommodation is really well located, our room was huge and lots of comfortable extras, such as coffee machine. Lovely lounge with outside space. However, as others have said, the five star rating is attributed in particular to Michael and his wife, who are superbe hosts from moment of arrival to departure. They are attentive and kind to all guests and do their upmost to make your stay enjoyable. First class, thank you.

Our stay at this beautiful guesthouse was enchanting. Michael's warm welcome at the door already gave us a good feeling. Then we discovered the beautiful art in various parts of the house and in our magnificent and very comfortable bedroom. Michael happily shared with us his great knowledge of the artist Samuel Coucke who lived in the house and used it as his studio. He also gave use a lot of information about Bruges and the surrounding towns. We had many entertaining chats with him and his wife Nadja who always prepared a delicious breakfast. Everything was perfect, the atmosphere, the friendliness, the cleanliness etc...We could not find any faults in this wonderful guesthouse. It made our first trip to Bruges memorable. Thank you again Michael and Nadja. Annik and Lex Sydney.
