Game of Rooms

We’ve stayed in many budget hotels/hostels and enjoyed the experience but this place was shocking for so many reasons. Location was ok, 5 minute walk from the train station & 15mins to the Grand Place. That said, actually finding the accommodation and then getting into the place was a challenge. After hammering on the locked door we were eventually greeted by 2 females who looked totally confused by us being there. We tried to explain we were booked in for 1 night but they just kept shaking their heads and saying no. One of them then went out onto the street returning 5 minutes later and ushered us into a fast food joint next door and told us to wait. 10 minutes later someone who worked at the burger joint took us back next door and reluctantly gave us our keys for our room. We had paid for the Deluxe room which was supposed to have had a city view. Our window was about 10/15 foot off the floor & the only thing you could make out was a brick wall. Our Deluxe room was supposed to have a bidet which we never found and tea/coffee making facilities, yes there was a kettle but no cups, spoons etc. The shower was a cubicle in the room which leaked all over the bedroom floor, the Tv had no plug just loose wires and there was what appeared to be bloodstains on the walls. The room was unbearably hot, there was a fan which had to be switched on all night not just to keep us cool but to drown out the music and shouting that went on until morning. As for the rest of the hotel there was suppose be a common room and roof top terrace (check out the pics) Apart from the not so easy check in, we never saw a single member of staff throughout our stay , the reception shutters were permanently closed so any complaints were out of the question not that anyone could understand us anyway. AVOID this accommodation at all costs .
