Holiday Inn Express BRUSSELS - GRAND-PLACE by IHG

A short visit to Brussels just before Xmas was enhanced by our stay in the Holiday Inn Express which was conveniently situated a few minutes walk from the historic and picturesque Grand Place. Many restaurants to choose from serving traditional dishes.

Having stayed at several Holiday Inn Express before, our recent experience fell far short of expectations. Several issues happened during our stay: 1. Wifi connectivity: Wifi in our rooms was slow and unstable. Furthermore, there was an outage one night that lasted well into the following morning. When we contacted the front desk for help, we were left on hold for over 10mins and eventually had to go down to the reception. We were then told nothing could be done. It would have been appreciated if the staff has provided more reassurance that they are doing their best to resolve the issue. 2. Accountability for damages: Our travel bottle was damaged during housekeeping, yet there was no acknowledgment or effort to address it. Accidents can happen but communication would have gone a long way. 3. Condition of common facilities: The common bathroom was in poor condition, with a hole in the ceiling and cables with water dripping down. This issue was left unresolved throughout our three day stay which was quite concerning.

Hotel staff were friendly. Provided really good dinner options at chez Jacques that was really near hotel. Best to go early before dinner crowd. Breakfast is complimentary however it is basic and don't expect much. Room is small but manageable. Overall I would recommend this hotel for short term stay.

Great service hotel just on the curb of town. Prefect walk to literally anyway. Easy to navigate to trains and local spots.
