Ibis Bucharest Politehnica

Bucharest|1.32km from Museum of Senses
I went to Bucharest for one conference, and stayed the entire month until the second conference. And then I stayed another month because everything fit together so nicely with the room, the breakfast and the dinner. I had looked into another ibis, more center city so I could walk to more touristy places, but I was very happy being able to do most everything I needed to do on foot or by bus. An occasional Uber to AFI Cotroceni filled in the gaps. The nearby grocery store was bigger, and the closest Post Office was nicer than those in other areas I have stayed in. As many others have mentioned, the staff was very personable. Their numbers were fairly small which meant I had the chance to interact with each over the ensuing weeks. Not a bad apple in the entire bunch! In fact I left with two new Facebook friends! The hotel is large but not the largest Acoor property I have stayed in, and overtime several tour groups visited for evening dinner and morning breakfast. As an American, my favorite part of traveling is to mingle and interact with persons from different countries with different languages. It was very interesting meeting people from Kyiv, several groups from Spain, and even a tour bus of Asian adults. There was an Erasmus group of students, I learned later apparently from Greece, and models from a Romanian reality Tv series. Building the Ibis next-door to Politechnia was an amazing decision. While I have no connection to the school, I did occasionally walk up and down the flower garden to take in the sights, and to get in some exercise that I otherwise would have gotten doing touristy things in old town. The kitchen restaurant was an amazing room, and I wound up spending the better part of an hour and a half a day there, for breakfast and back for dinner. It is an ibis so the furniture was a little quirky, but I found ways to keep my ailing back very comfortable. My being gluten and lactose intolerant, the staff was very aware, and despite the fact that I brought my own bread which can be a little tricky, they had plenty for me to choose from. Especially since I don't stray from very plain American/English menu items. Almost everyone spoke English, and those who did were quite fluent! I would not be surprised if some were also fluent in other European languages, especially what are known as the Romance languages. Perhaps even German! I had a quality time and I will return for the next conferences.

The hotel was nice and quiet but still close to the centre. The room was pleasant, clean and well configured. Service was great (very friendly and helpful). We also had breakfast included which I would recommend as it was excellent quality with lots of choice (including Hungarian wine!).

The hotel is very good, the location is also OK, because only stayed for one day, did not pay attention to whether there is parking lot, breakfast in the local, personal favorite flavor, do not make reference. 😊😊
Hotel Tranzzit

When I arrived at Hotel Tranzzit there was absolutely nobody manning the desk. Granted, it was around 11pm, but the website lists no set check-in time limit (just that it begins at 2pm). I waited around 45 mins for someone to show up, and the person who did arrive was not very friendly or communicative. After some back and forth I was told that they had no record of my booking — however I had just received a phone call from them the day before (no message left) so they definitely had my information. The night receptionist showed me the personal information of everyone else staying there to ask if I was staying with those guests, which seemed like a breach of privacy. He asked if I had paid yet, and I said no, but he gave me the keys and let me into the room without paying. Very strange check-in experience. Overall, the room was not bad. Unfortunately I was in the room directly beside reception and you can hear absolutely everything, so I was awoken every day by the phone ringing or people chatting. The daytime receptionists were very friendly although did not speak English, and I made sure to pay for my stay in the morning. My room had one large bed, a closet, a bathroom, a window to an outdoor seating area, and a television — although I never tried the TV as you could hear everything from the lobby and vice versa. No hot water on the first day but the second day was fine. Soap and shower gel is included in the bathroom. No fridge or kettle in the room but there is a kitchen. Breakfast is not included but one coffee per day is allowed if you ask the reception to prepare it. Wi-fi is uncharacteristically spotty for Romania and would connect and disconnect every minute or so. The great thing about this place is not only price but location. You are only around 8 mins from Gara de Nord and there is a laundromat on the way as well. Lots of Mega Image grocery stores nearby and even a nice park. Metro, etc. are all located conveniently. It's very easy to walk to the Old City and the area with the Atheneum. Overall, I didn't hate my stay here. It was a bit awkward and strange but the daytime receptionists were very sweet and feigned being impressed with my almost-non-existent Romanian, hahaha. I would stay here again for one or two nights if I was travelling by train.

Bucharest City Center
Hotel staff was helpful. Breakfast was great There is a small convenience store next to the hotel that opens until 12 midnight. However, wifi was not working on rooms in the second floor of the hotel for the entire day. Wi-Fi was fine on ground floor, and 3rd to 5h floors. Level 2 seems to be under construction or having an industrial look compared to other floors. Do take a look at the photos and see for yourself

This hotel is super nice and a very chic place to stay. Fun to have a drink in the lobby and to have breakfast inside the restaurant. The rooms are very spacious they have like three separate rooms and they have a beautiful balcony overlooking the property. Staff was flawless hotel was very upscale. The only problem I have with this hotel is that the pool is very very small and I like to luxury ate and of huge swimming pool when I am on vacation and the pool here very small maybe only suitable for children or for someone who doesn't like to swim laps. I never took a dip in the pool and I changed hotels because I wanted a spa / swimming pool hot tub amenity for my vacation. If you were not into pools then this is the perfect place to stay. I got this room for $100 a night and that is truly a steal.

Stayed here for a few nights and have to say the hotel was actually ok . Some of the issues i have were no fault of the hotel ie groups of kids outside the hotel late at night , dogs barking . Hotel also needs to remind the cleaning staff that not everyone gets up early and that shouting to each other from different parts of the hotel is not on . Wi-fi was painfully slow also . Checked in easy and staff were nice and for what we paid was better than i expected .
