Anantara New York Palace Budapest - A Leading Hotel of The World

Luxury! Perfect! In Europe, where 3k often only gets you a standard hotel room in popular travel destinations, here, for 2.5k, you can get a balcony room with a gorgeous view. Every morning, going down for breakfast feels like walking into a palace, haha! It's so rich in history! All the bath products are from Acqua di Parma, which is exactly to my liking. (There's even a Kolodko mini-sculpture on the side of the hotel!)

First off, the housekeeping staff told me directly that over half the rooms have twin beds, so they could only give us twin beds. Then they called someone to combine them, and all the sheets and pillowcases were just thrown on the floor. Sure enough, the next day I had bug bites everywhere my skin touched the bed. When I complained downstairs, they said the only way to switch rooms was to upgrade, which would cost an extra 100 euros per day. The bread section at breakfast was swarming with flies. After eating, I definitely had diarrhea. My girlfriend got locked in the bathroom because the shower door got stuck. The repair person just came and removed the plastic strip from the bottom, and then the next day, water leaked everywhere when we showered. Housekeeping only comes to make the beds. They don't refill shower gel when it runs out, and they don't provide new slippers if yours get wet at the pool. If you call downstairs for slippers, you have to wait 20 minutes. On a positive note, the lady at the -1 floor swimming pool was very nice.

This hotel is extraordinary. Its main highlight is the historic section – a mini Hermitage where live music is always playing! The pianist is wonderful. Zina at reception was fantastic; she showed us around and told us all about the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by the fresh flowers in the room and the twice-daily housekeeping service. We will definitely recommend this hotel!

Our original booking for a family suite was unavailable, and the hotel insisted that the standard room they gave us was the correct room type. This was completely inconsistent with the pictures from my stay in 2024 and the room type displayed on Ctrip. It wasn't until I showed them photos from my previous stay that they admitted the room type was incorrect. After negotiating with their supervisor, we paid an additional 200 euros per day to upgrade to a larger suite. Aside from the convenient access to New York Café, everything else was really subpar. You can compare pictures one and two with the room type images on Ctrip – consider this a warning!

This hotel is fantastic! The staff are so warm and friendly. The New York Cafe is right next to the hotel's ground floor, which means you don't have to queue for a table during your stay – super convenient, especially in peak season. We also had breakfast there, and the selection was incredibly rich and varied. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

This established five-star hotel is absolutely fantastic, truly perfect. The service is warm and attentive, and the breakfast is incredibly rich and varied; everything meets five-star standards. The hotel's restaurant is the famous New York Cafe, with perfectly preserved historic decorations that create a magnificent palatial atmosphere.
