Hotel Malika Bukhara

I wondered if this was what a 4-star hotel breakfast in Uzbekistan was like. The front desk staff were unfriendly, the stairs were narrow, and the location was questionable. Other restaurants have also made me realise that Uzbeks are not suited to the service industry.

The room was very run-down, like a guesthouse in China. Upon arrival, they put us in a room in an abandoned attic, which was extremely dilapidated! The bathroom looked like a makeshift structure. After repeated requests, we were changed to another room, which was also very basic; even the window was broken, and the bedding was very worn out… Choose this room with caution, although the location is good.

The hotel doesn't have an elevator, so those with large luggage should be aware. The best thing about the hotel is its location; it's in the old town, very close to all attractions, all within a 10-minute walk – fantastic! However, getting a taxi isn't very convenient, especially since roads near the old town are often closed, preventing most Yandex taxis from entering. The hotel is connected to a restaurant, which has good food!
