Hotel Corona de Castilla Burgos

Location: The hotel is highly praised for its excellent location, being close to the Burgos Cathedral and the historic center. Many guests appreciated the proximity to restaurants and tourist spots, with the cathedral just a 5-10 minute walk away.(based on 1 review)

Possibly the worst hotel we have stayed at in 20 years! We were not given the room we booked. We had booked 2 single beds but were given a small double in a tiny dark, gloomy room overlooking and internal courtyard with other peoples washing lines in view. No natural light to speak of. There was no room to swing a cat! There is no bar available. We had arrived mid afternoon and wished to have a cold drink and chat. They only had some vending machines and no glasses so we didn't bother. We did attempt to go outside to see what is available locally but the hotel is miles from anywhere with any life going on. The so called restaurant is nothing bit a canteen style room upstairs with no atmosphere whatsoever. The breakfast in the morning was chaos as there was a coach party of Dutch travellers who proceeded to raid the entire buffet and remove food in napkins for later! Absolutely appalling behaviour but one we have witness before so it much be a Dutch trait! All the fancy decor in the corridors bears no resemblance to what the hotel is really like.

Great location within 10 minutes of Cathedral and restaurants. No AC in mid-April and window did not open so it was a bit warm during heat wave. Beautiful foyer and lots of sitting areas. Only 1 slow elevator. Breakfast was ok and very crowded.
