The Oakwheel

As we were staying nearby, we decided to give The Oakwheel a try. The staff were friendly and attentive and we were impressed with the quality of the food. The steak pies in particular were really good. It proved to be a most enjoyable visit.

Stopped here last night . Flies in the dining area was terrible. I had to leave my breakfast as they kept landing on my food. I tried to complain to the waitress but she was very busy dealing with other customers.

I've never written a negative review before, but had to here. After speaking with them multiple times today, I no longer have the energy to explain what happened and how they spoke to us, but I wanted to make sure the 1 star review counted. I'll just say, the most 'computer says no' people I have ever spoken with. Good luck if you're staying here. We ended up cancelling and booking nearby, even though we couldn't get even part of a refund.

Popped in here for a late dinner. I ordered the fish and chips with a slice of bread, and the other half ordered the chicken in mushroom and pancetta sauce. When it arrived it was a great surprise - really good portion sizes, accompanied by veggies for her and a big plate of chips with mine. Food was excellent and staff super helpful, so can recommend for a bite to eat!

Lovely place, with lovely staff and lovely food. Couldn’t ask for anything more!

Lovely meals,very tasty steak pie, pastry was slightly tough but the filling was very nice,served with nice fresh vegetables,the beef and Yorkshire pudding was also very nice,we will be back,only small snag was the waiting time,it was about 45 minutes before we got our meals,it didn't really bother us we weren't in a rush but I guess if it had been busy which it wasn't it might bother some people.

Went for food but only stayed for a drink as staffs attitude was terrible one waitress was actually walking around moaning about customers so we left and went for a lovely meal further up the road

Staff were wonderful. Really fabulous. Bathroom was dated Floors were really slanted and bouncy. There was a real dip in our room (which was very small) and the bathroom.

This is the best Sunday Lunch in Scarborough, All home cooked food and lovely vegetables. It is absolutely gorgeous, Can't recommend it highly enough, You must go and try it. Even better they do Sunday Lunch until 7pm. Staff always friendly too
