Enjoyed a warm welcome at Grand Hyatt Taipei on Friday 1st Nov after the super typhoon Kong Rey hit on 31st Oct. The room was ready for us when we arrived at 3pm. We did not get the Taipei 101 view - will get it next visit🤭. Hotel gave us late check out at 2pm….really wonderful! And please enjoy breakfast at the hotel…the variety is huge!
Nearest mrt is at Taipei 101.
Recommended… yes lots of rumours that it’s ******* etc but we did not feel or see anything weird.

If you are looking at Convenient & spacious room. This is it! Not service or luxury. Location is very close to XMD. Room is spacious. Have a self service coin laundry room, however closes at 10pm and only opens at 10am. The hotel should consider to change the operational timing. Super inconvenient as most tourist will be out for tour at those timing. Seem like they just have the service but not usual able. During check-out, front staff was super busy among themselves. Room is spacious, cleanliness is average. When I checked in my room, there was a patch of gluey, sticky liquid in the carpet near the sofa. Floor curtains and carpets are worn off and dirty especially at the corridor. Overall, stay was good as the location is good, near to train station. Another point, just to take note, if you are travelling by train to the hotel, exit via EXIT4, there’s lift and escalator which is easier if you have stroller or luggage. Is the same distance to the hotel via exit 5 which only have stairs to climb up.

The Grand Hotel is very grand and impressive, with service and amenities top notch. The place is so big, they have golf carts to drive you to the gym/pool area if needed.
Clean, great staff and lots of history in this place, however the furniture and fittings are aging just like the hotel itself. Maybe a refresh is needed, or a serious deep carpet clean, and location wise, it's on top of a hill so not very central or that close to an MRT (10 minute walk apparently). If you like taking taxis, or want to impress relatives who live locally, then stay here. I've done it once, but prefer locality over spaciousness, so won't be staying here again.

Amazing experience in this hotel, location wise is great. Very close to mrt station (Ximen), or about 15 mins walk to Taipei Main Station.
It is also walking distance to ximending area. So many shopping and food.
The hotel was rustic with industrial architecture, room was good, and the water pressure was awesome.
As for breakfast, yes they serve the same menu everyday, but what do you expect? When traveling, try the local food.

The hotel’s located in a really nice area where there is the main bus line in front of it and about 10 mins walk to Taipei Main Station. It is also really close to Ximending Walking Street and night market, only 4-5 minutes walk. The staff is nice and welcoming. The hotel doesn’t offer breakfast so in the common area in front of the front desk, there are only few instant noodle packages and some beverage for guests to purchase. They also helped me a lot when I asked if they have a microwave so I can warm up my food. They helped me right away and gave me the nicely warm food in about 10 minutes. So nice of them. The room is quite small imo and not really well furnished as I expected. There’s no closet in the room so they only have a rack hanging above the table which I find pretty weird but amusing to look at. The only thing I have a slight complaint about is the wifi signal. It’s pretty bad in my room (my room is the first room, in the corner). Also, my 5G doesn’t work well in my room even though it worked perfectly outside of the hotel. If you plan to stay a few nights in the center area and just need a room to sleep, I think this hotel is a good choice.

Walking distance to longshan station approximately 5mins. Strategic location as surrounding with night market and convenient stores. Basically was 2 stations away to Taipei station and 1 station away to Ximen.
Breakfast is decent which they offered chinese cuisine such as porridge, braised pork rice, etc. The most attractive was they provide brew coffee machine where I personally like their black coffee very much.
Their service is good and provided the free upgrade to king bed with bath tub.

We appreciate the free mini bar!
Very good selection of breakfast
Not too central, but there are nearby bus stops.
Near Ningxia Market.

The overall experience is good. This Mandarin Oriental's setting overall feels a bit small in terms of lobby waiting area. Feels like it's separated into many different parts. Room layout is nice. Water pressure is very strong. Breakfast is good. Gym facilities are not the newest but sufficient for a decent workout.

We stayed at this hotel for our quarantine stay (3+4). This hotel was the highest priced quarantine hotel in Taipei. As Taiwan is moving away from quarantine, it is unclear whether this hotel will remain a quarantine hotel. Provided meals: Three meals were provided. I believe they rotated it somewhat. I would give them 4 stars overall. They were of mid-to-high end quality, but certainly not Michelin star or 5-star hotel restaurant's quality. That is, I had much better at The Regent or The Sheraton Taipei. That said, there was a microwave in the room for one to heat up the meals to a warmer setting as the meals were prepared in bulk at the lobby. They were lukewarm when the meals arrived in our room. It appeared some meals were prepared by the hotel restaurant and others were from outside sources. The meals were *********, Korean, and Japanese focused. If one wants Western foods, then Food Panda or Uber Eats will be what you want. There are expensive local restaurants at Xinyi Districts that you can pay for to get your own food. Check with the hotel on delivery times, I believe that they won't refund the costs of the meals if one chooses not to eat the prepaid meals. Prior to booking the quarantine hotel, they will send one a form to ask for some preferences and/or allergies. There was a toaster and hot water boiler in the room. The drip coffee and tea packets were super flavorful and refilled (via Line or other means of contact) during our stay. In fact, most contacts were done remotely during the quarantine period. Room: This is what one is paying for in this place if one is stuck here for 8 days (landing day is Day 0). The bed and beddings were super comfortable. The bed was a full king, My room was in the smaller side, but sufficient for two people and eight pieces of luggage. The room was super clean. We know, because we tried wiping some areas and found them to be stainless. We also noticed, via the peephole, that housekeeping took over two hours to deep clean our neighbor's room - including the use of what appeared to be an ultraviolet wand to clean some service areas. There was a clothes-wire in the bathroom if one needed to do handwash laundry during the quarantine stay. Unfortunately, the hotel didn't provide any detergent, but we used the provide soap, The bathroom was large with rain showerhead available. The toilet was a bit too high up off the floor for us as we are around 5 ft 8 inches but flushed well. If one's room faced south or east, one would get a good view of Taipei 101. The south side would get a full view, and east side (our room) got the view from the couch in the ”living room” area. The TV was pretty large and we could watch it from our bed comfortably. The only complaint, if any, was that it didn't have as many international channels for this high-end hotel. I wanted Bloomberg, but nothing was offered. Not even CNBC. The WiFi was very fast. The location was convenient. It was near the City Hall MRT (took about 5-7 min

GGuest UserThe service is amazing! The staff remembers their guests and greets them, helps with luggage and even offers to help with getting a taxi etc. the hotel rooms are tastefully decorated and the bathrooms are huge with a walk down hot spring kinda bath, walk in shower (with rain shower), bidet, the most comfortable in room slippers, amenities as all 5 star hotels. Breakfast tastes great (feel free to ask for freshly blended coffee like a cappuccino, latte etc), hotel provides free want want snacks. The bed and pillows were really comfortable! Love everything about the hotel and will stay there again!

CCharm-Room - room was SPOTLESS and much nicer, newer and modern than I had expected! It was such a pleasant surprise.
Loved the complimentary drinks and snacks, room layout, chair, table, bathroom including the automatic toilet with bidet. In short, the room exceeded my expectations!!
Service was not the best. Front desk was sullen and moody. I reached at 7am and was so so tired, but there wasn’t any early check in available unless I PAID extra. This was despite the fact that I told them I would be checking out early on my last day (around 9am). Front desk was not empathetic and said I could only come back around 3pm for a room.
Secondly, I received a call at THREE AM in the morning!!! The phone refused to stop ringing until I actually picked it up and slammed it down and woke me up from my deep sleep. I called front desk to ask who had called me (cos I wasn’t expecting any calls on the hotel phone) and they said that I had ordered water and cos I didn’t open the door they called me?! This is the most ridiculous encounter at any hotel in all my years of travel. 1)Please do not ever call your guests at unearthly hours and 2)calling the wrong room??? They didn’t even apologise and there was Zero attempts to apologise to me either.
Location. Honestly nothing much nearby in the day. At night there’s some restaurants that were quite crowded. I just used Uber to get around.
Gym only had two machines.
I would say, book the hotel only if you just care about having a nice and decent room and do not care about service / location.
GGuest UserI stayed at Yusense Hotel for my mandatory quarantine during November 2021. The room was super clean, essentially spotless - a real comfort to see during Covid times. The room was spacious, with enough floor area to exercise. The room's mountain view immediately put me at peace, which was much needed as quarantine/isolation can really put one's mood down. The room got plenty of sunlight as well - another source of mood booster. On service - one might think service might not be important during quarantine given you're locked up 24/7, but if you've quarantined before, you'll know it's crucial - hotel staff did an outstanding job - from promptly responding to my requests, to customizing my meal plan for my dietary restrictions, to quickly getting my Foodpanda deliveries from the front desk to the doorstep of my room. The hotel staff was extremely attentive and responsive and I'm really thankful to them for that. The meal plan was well thought out, fruits were provided as part of the meals daily, and the occasional surprise afternoon tea/cakes were a delight. Only negatives I'd say is that the room windows were a bit too reflective at night, and, and for my own personal preference, there wasn't enough room lighting during the night hours (natural lighting during the day was great), however the hotel was happy to provide extra lamps upon request. This hotel really had it all to make my quarantine stay more pleasant.
Mmezzan9neSuper conveniently located, directly above Taipei Main Station which gives great access to the Tamsui-Xinyi Line, as well as the Bannan Line. There was also the vast Taipei Underground mall that leads to many locations, like Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Taipei Station, and Breeze Taipei Station, so one is never bored and there are places to go even in inclement weather.
As for the hotel itself, let's just say it DEFINITELY has its charms. The décor is quaint and aged, and the room definitely is showing it's age, but the aesthetic was not necessarily a negative. It's just a certain kind of charm that takes awhile 2 appreciate.
Age and décor aside, the hotel totally makes it up with it's service. The staff were very attentive, efficient and friendly. From the front desk, concierge, down to the wait staff at the breakfast restaurant, we were treated very warmly.
As for the negative, the air-conditioning is actually central and when we checked in, our room aircon was not cold and was rather warm, turns out that the filter was very dirty and not well-maintained, but kudos to the maintenance staff who was quick and efficient in trying to rectify the issue. Throughout our stay though, the aircon still had its ups and downs, but that is what was to be expected from a central aircon system I guess.
Overall, very much recommended for its location and service.

GGuest UserThe location is one of its strongest points. It’s conveniently near a bus stop and an MRT station, making it easy to get around the city. Moreover there are many cafe nearby, next to the mini public garden.
However, the cleanliness was just average. The room was clean but could use more attention to detail. On the plus side, the hotel is well-equipped with amenities, which was a pleasant surprise.
One downside I noticed was that the room had a faint smell of smoke, which was disappointing. If you’re sensitive to smells, this might be a concern.
Overall, it’s a good option for those who prioritize location and don’t expect much.

MMaps52285364762We stayed here for 4 nights. Before commenting on the hotel, we wanted to share some of our own experiences with those who travelled to this hotel on their own. We arrived at the airport at about 5pm and went to the Flying Dog Bus counter as suggested by the Forum members. Based on the information we found, the bus was supposed to take us to the hotel or close enough to the hotel. But instead, we were told they would not take us to the hotel door until after six o'clock. Before 6 o'clock, they will only put guests on the designated bus route and then take a taxi to the location they are going to. In short, if you arrive at the airport before 5:30, then it is recommended to take the Guoguang bus. After the next time at the terminal (Taipei Central Station), take the MRT to Ximending. Pros: -The location is good. It takes only a few minutes to walk to the nearest MRT Ximending Station. -All rooms have free Internet access. Try using the wireless connection. If you don't have a network cable yourself, you can borrow one from the front desk. - Basic supplies: hairdryer, kettle, free bottled water and tea - very clean Cons - hotel entrance hidden in a narrow alley and easy to miss. Just look for the World Express pastry shop on the main road. There are huge neon lights on the top side of the hotel, which is useful when looking for it from a distance. - Shower and bathtub are integrated. As a business hotel, we expect them to install a shower curtain, but maybe they think it will cost too much. So you can imagine the mess after each shower. -No useful maps available. Those maps that could be used only marked the subway line, and there was no address information or anything like that. - the lighting in the room was poor. It was too dark for ladies who wanted to make up. -Close to a government building, so if you want to walk around naked in the room, it is recommended to close the curtains. -The front desk clerk doesn't seem to know much about the attractions. -Breakfast coupons are issued at the front desk every morning, dining at the fast food restaurant on the main road, just at the exit of the narrow alley. There are about four or five packages to choose from, but the two must be the same (for both of us)! That is so stupid! The food is not good either.
