Great location. Within 5 mins walk to town centre, a shopping centre and the train station. Hotel feels and looks grand. Oddly situated and some non-functional powerpoints in the room. Pretty comfortable beds.

Hotel was stunning. Room was spacious and beautiful. We stayed on the 3rd floor. Room was modern. Bathroom was spotless and clean. Reception staff were polite. Only disappointing comment is that even though we were staying at the hotel we still had to pay for parking which I think should be free if we are paying customers.

Lovely hotel in a lovely setting. Very close to the attractions of buxton. Will definitely stay again !

Was woke up so many times throughout the night and I hat to put a towel on dirty sheets

We booked a cosy double for two nights in February. The first room we were given on the ground floor was not clean, it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned prior to our check in. The reception staff quickly changed our room which was much better. The general facilities were good, good bar service, pool / gym area was good. Only downside was the sauna wasn’t working.  We would recommend the hotel due to its excellent location, beautiful communal areas and grounds. Opting for a higher price room, overlooking the front of the property would be our choice if we stay again.

I chose this one because it was a good price :) in the center of Buxton town. Close to restaurants, shops, train station, bus stop, nice park 5 minutes from the hotel. Nice service. Minus parking fees but 5 f per day

This is an old building with tight corridors, not that fun when you are carrying to bags, also the TV had no reception as the aerial was not plugged in and the socket was behind the cupboard, that was fun getting that back in.

Last min Saturday night trip. Great classic look hotel. Lovely entrance and staircase etc. standard room ok clean comfy etc. Room decor and furniture doesn’t match the hotel but for price worth it. Location fab right in town. £5 for parking well worth it. Didn’t use spa and pool.

Given a room where I couldn't open the window's and I could hear the ventilation (AHU's) - asked to change - only option a single bed room. To be fair the hotel was busy with a wedding, got the feeling I was given one of the worse rooms- hotel guests got the best 

Good value for money... cheaper bedrooms we're up lots of stairs, difficult with heavy bags. Room in need of some TLC but we're very clean. English breakfast was hot and well cooked but very basic in terms of pastries, fruit and yogurt etc. Staff helpful and friendly Car parking charge of 5.00 for 24 hrs was reasonable considering location. Would definitely stay again but would look to book a better room not in the attic!

Our bedroom smelt musky it was terrible we complained to the manager but he would not move us to a cleaner room we were even told we should expect old buildings to smell musky WOW Its pretty obvious they put people who book through Trip .com in the worst rooms far away from the restaurant bar etc in a small smelly rooms. On the plus side the breakfast was excellent

Great location, near to station and town. We stayed in the cosy double room which was compact but warm! Only issues we had is that the tap head wasn’t fixed on properly and the fan in the room didn’t rotate. Otherwise pretty good value for money.

During our stay in a standard room, we had modest expectations based on the price point. Unfortunately, the room did not meet even those expectations. Here are some specific issues we encountered: 1. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a restful night's sleep. 2. The bathroom exhaust fan was not functioning correctly. 3. The furniture was uneven, and the TV was mounted in a way that caused it to bend on one side. 4. The air quality in the room felt heavy, and we could only open the window slightly. Overall, these factors contributed to a disappointing experience in the standard room.
