The room was spacious and well-equipped with a microwave, cutlery, and a fridge. It's super close to both the ferry terminal and Cairns train station. There's a breakfast spot right opposite the hotel and a supermarket nearby, perfect for grabbing bread to heat up in the microwave. The front desk staff were really helpful, even assisting us with booking a taxi. The laundry facilities were fantastic, with large washing machines and dryers. Just a heads-up, the hotel doesn't provide slippers or toothbrushes, so remember to bring your own!

Choosing The Benson Hotel for my Cairns trip was a brilliant decision! The location is absolutely superb – super close to the airport, just about a 15-minute taxi ride. It’s also only a 10-minute walk to the Lagoon Pool and the Marina, making it incredibly convenient for an evening stroll along the waterfront to the pool for a swim, or heading to the Marina to catch the sunset. The surrounding area is incredibly well-equipped too: right outside the hotel, you’ll find a huge variety of restaurants, from local seafood specialties to Asian cuisine, so you can try something new every day. There’s also a large supermarket nearby, perfect for grabbing fruits, snacks, or travel essentials. Shopping here gets full marks! The hotel rooms are spacious and bright, with all the amenities you could need, including air conditioning, making it feel just as comfortable as home. The front desk service was exceptionally thoughtful and attentive; they patiently recommended nearby attractions and restaurants, and any issues were resolved quickly. In short, this stay far exceeded my expectations. I will definitely choose The Benson Hotel again on my next visit to Cairns! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for convenient travel and comfortable accommodation – you won’t be disappointed!

Quite Central to where you need to be in Cairns. At first sight, the hotel looked quite crusty externally but the room (and interior) were fine. Breakfast was rather delicious. Pool looked ok but don’t actually go in as there was little cover from the sun i.e. additional deck chair umbrellas. Had to haggle for a late check-out (from 10am to 11am) but in the end, after using reason and logic, we got there… Overall a good experience

The location near the beach is great, and it's been nicely renovated overall. The only minor drawback is the soundproofing.

Great hotel with a lovely room. Great location and decent value for money. Reception staff were helpful and it was great that the recep was 24/7. Check-out time can be a little early and they do charge $20/hr if you request for a late check-out.

We arrived at the hotel around 9:30, almost 10 AM, because we had an early flight. We originally thought we'd just drop off our luggage and head out, but to our surprise, they told us our room was ready and we could check in early for free! That was amazing!!!! Storing our luggage here was also very convenient! The hotel overall is clean, and the bathroom and shower were very bright and comfortable! Highly recommended!!

The hotel's location is excellent, just about a ten-minute walk to where you catch the boats. It's also very convenient for getting to the nearby shopping street and Japanese, Chinese, and Thai restaurants. The breakfast was the same every day, and we used the pool, but didn't visit the gym. There's a large Woolworths supermarket nearby, which was handy since the hotel charged 2 dollars for a bottle of water, so we bought our own. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

The environment was pleasing, and its proximity to the pier was super convenient! The room was very clean, close to nearby restaurants, and the front desk staff had a great attitude. The deposit was refunded promptly.

The room was spotless, with prompt daily housekeeping. The location was also excellent, very conveniently located. My only complaint was that there seemed to be a bar downstairs, blasting music until the early hours, which was extremely frustrating.

Amazing hotel with a feel of comfort and welcoming atmosphere, the parking made it convenient, the shower was great , Italian , Brazil and Ozzie staff running the place can’t go wrong here
