The best hotel

The Good: Excellent Location: The hotel's location was absolutely perfect. It was central to everything I wanted to see and do, making my stay convenient and enjoyable. Friendly Staff: The staff members were a highlight, always greeting with a smile and eager to help. Their friendliness made for a more pleasant stay. The Bad: Mosquito Menace: The room was unfortunately teeming with mosquitoes, which made for an uncomfortable and itchy stay. It was a constant battle keeping them at bay. Broken and Unopenable Window: The room's window was broken and couldn't be opened, which contributed to the stuffy atmosphere and the mosquito problem. Run-Down Bathroom: The bathroom clearly showed signs of wear and tear. It was rundown and in desperate need of renovation. Worn-Out Towels: The towels provided were totally worn out, detracting from the overall comfort and feel of the place. Unclean Bedding: Cleanliness was a serious issue, with the duvet and bed covers not being clean. It made for an uneasy night's sleep. Mosquito Skeletons: Adding to the discomfort, remnants of previous mosquito battles were evident all over the room, which was quite off-putting. The breakfast is very basic

Good location, friendly staff, but the room so basic and small need lots of renovation, very noisy place I was there 2 nights and couldn’t sleep at all. I wouldn’t comeback again and wouldn’t recommend.

You are not staying here because it’s a five star hotel. You are staying here because it’s cheap. On the outside looks super sketchy (see picture) and you get inside and the the hotel is on the 4th floor and you don’t feel super confident in the elevator but it works. Once you get to the fourth floor and the reception desk you finally feel ok, it’s a cute place. It’s no longer “omg I’m going to die here.” They still use old keys here for the rooms but that didn’t bother me. Never thought my stuff would get stolen. The rooms are actually on the fifth floor and the room next to reception is where you have breakfast. I stayed in a triple with my sister. There was a double bed and a single. I decided to upgrade because there would be more space to move. The mattresses are hard as rock and only made up with sheets. We thought there was no blankets but we also didn’t look bc we didn’t really need them (the blankets were in the closet). The AC worked and we were comfortable. Breakfast is a plastic wrapped plate with a hard boiled egg, couple slices of bread, butter, jam, cream cheese. Not bad, I ate all of it. They have tea and coffee as well. They have a water bubbler that you can use to fill up your water bottle. My sister said it tasted weird but I thought it was fine. Overall, you can sleep easy enough you won’t get murdered or robbed but the noise from the car horns in the street might keep you up. It has the bare essentials.

I had two days left of an extended business trip and wanted to stay in the heart of old Cairo. This hotel is on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors of an old apartment building just off Opera Square where the fast paced modern shopping district meets the busy market street leading up to the Khan-el-Khalil. It is also easy to reach on the excellent metro (at Attaba station). Rooms are good sized, with high ceilings. My bed was very comfortable and the modern a/c was very efficient. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. The breakfast room on the 4th floor is bright and airy and although I'm not a breakfast person what was available did the job nicely. The old style lift was a bit nerve wracking for me, but has recently been renewed with a new enclosed cabin, so do not be concerned.

This is a really friendly Egyptian hotel - on the fourth floor of a building that's over 100 years old in downtown Cairo. It's not easy to find, so find the Banque Alexandria, and it's down a wee street across the road. There's a fantastic tiny coffee shop just after the entrance. The hotel is clean, beds very comfy, and a good simple breakfast is all that's needed before venturing straight out into this wonderful city. There's great wifi and really genuinely nice welcome and attention to detail. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel if you don't want the anonymity of a big hotel, and who wants that ? Going back next weekend, and this may just become my home from home in Cairo ! And the amazing Eish and Malh Egyptian-Italian restaurant is four mins walk away - ate dinner and had brunch there in bliss !
