Club Cala Romani First and foremost we had a fantastic holiday here. This is a 3* hotel so do not expect 5* The complex is quite large, with a lovely pool area, childrens play area, tennis and football courts (on concrete) and a basketball court. There are also pool tables and table tennis (you have to purchase the bats and ball in the shop approx 5€, you will also find a path leading to the beach. Reception and lobby area are spacious, there is an area for you to leave your cases on departure. There is a lovely outside terrace area to sit in the evening with access to the bar. The double rooms sleep 3 they are small, dry basic but clean, No tea/coffee making facilities. The main dining area is a good size. There is a snack bar serving hot dogs, burgers, toasties, nuggets, chips, bread rolls, salad, ham, cheese, pate, wine, water and juice, no machine for Pepsi etc. Also a late snack room which again serves cheese, ham, pate, breads, cake, wine, juice and water. Staff … all staff were pleasant, all work hard Positives … large complex Lovely pool area Clean Large dining area Very near to the shopping centre, were there’s plenty of bars/eateries, shops and a little children’s area where they have crazy golf and some little attractions. We found the food ok, always something to eat, plenty of fresh salads, fruit, meats and desserts. The soup and paella was lovely. We had a coeliac/gluten free child in our party and the kitchen staff were brilliant in making her pasta and pizzas. Negatives The pool although lovely needs totally refurbishing, lots of tiny tiles are missing on the bottom of the pool. Bar … the queues are extremely long. You have to queue to return cups and get your tokens, unless you want to carry dirty cups around, this really needs addressing, you spend most time queuing, not enough bar staff. Rooms and bathrooms could do with a total make over, and some little toiletries adding. This hotel as the potential to upgrade to 4* it’s in a fab position and as plenty of space. Sun loungers could do with being replaced to recliners, the existing ones are very uncomfortable. We did not really see the Animation team, they never walked round asking if you’d like to join in any of the activities, everything was done via a display board and microphone, no banter no atmosphere. I’ve never been to an hotel where the animation team don’t come around the pool to try and involve you in the activities? Lastly the lifeguards, wow, three life guards on duty all sat together on their phones laughing and chatting. I did report this. So I hope the hotel management look into this. They have a policy of no floats (lilo’s) however, the odd one or two was in there, and the large donuts. If you make rules then the lifeguards should adhere to them. Overall we had a lovely holiday, just remember it’s a great 3* hotel in a great location, I would defo recommend this hotel for families … be aware check out is 10am not noon like most hotels in the are
