I had faith in the Hilton brand, so I booked a total of four nights, but it turned out to be a very unpleasant stay! When checking in, the Indian female staff member kept pushing us to buy discounted breakfast. Because I didn't want to wake up early, I declined. This staff member immediately became hostile and unfriendly, answering our questions impatiently. What was most outrageous was that she initially assigned us a ground-floor room near the parking lot entrance. After we objected, she said that because we were staying for four nights, she could only give us room 268 on the second floor. This reason was simply unbelievable! We checked online again to see if the hotel was fully booked, but it was clear that there were still rooms available for rent. Room 268 was the furthest room at the very end of the entire floor. We had flown for over 10 hours and were dragging four pieces of luggage, and we were already tormented by this Indian female staff member at the front desk! Was it just because we refused to buy the breakfast she was promoting?! The cleanliness of room 268's bathroom was appalling. The edges of the shower stall, and the shampoo and shower gel racks all had mold and rust, and there was a water leak. The sliding door of the toilet was completely filled with dust, and every time we slid it, all the dust would fly out. The range hood had grease stains! During our four-night stay, our room wasn't cleaned for two days, even though we pressed the 'clean room' button daily. Every day, returning to the hotel was like opening a mystery box. Toilet paper wasn't replenished automatically either. When we called the front desk to inquire, they told us they wouldn't automatically replenish these items unless we specifically asked for them. Is this really the management standard for the Hilton brand? Do guests have to request even toilet paper? Every day, various glass cups and unknown brands of bottled water were left in the hallway. We reported it to the front desk, but no one cleared it for three whole days! I hope that the true management leaders of Hilton will take a look, especially at all the cleaning hazards in room 268! For this price, there are many other options. This time, it was definitely paying money to endure discomfort.

Cambridge was sweltering on the day we checked in. We were given a room with a dirty glass outside the door, which made us wonder if we had the wrong room. After double-checking the room number, we cautiously opened the door to find a baby crib and a large portable fan in the living room. The room was like a sauna. We called to ask why a crib was provided for a child who was almost nine years old. After a long wait, the front desk just kept saying 'sorry.' Two different teams came to check the AC, but nothing came of it. Finally, someone came with a ladder, pretended to open the ceiling in the room, fiddled with something, and then declared it fixed and that it would cool. However, it wasn't until we checked out at 8 am the next morning that the room temperature felt normal. I have no idea how Hilton manages this hotel; it's so terrible and utterly lacking in proper management. We also asked Trip.com to mediate, but they said their agent was negotiating with the hotel, which essentially meant no resolution. Trip.com should really strengthen its management of overseas hotel agents, as such a dreadful check-in experience significantly impacts Trip.com's reputation as well.

Out of the four DoubleTree by Hilton hotels I stayed at during my UK trip, the Cambridge one had the most complete room amenities. They even had capsule coffee machines, an oven, and various cooking utensils, making it especially suitable for families or those traveling with children.

Nice hotel, very comfortable, beautiful pool, and amazing staff. The breakfast was good. It's a bit far from the city center if you want to walk. The parking is good but very expensive. The restaurant was average, especially considering the prices. However, we had a very pleasant stay.

The hotel's location and cleanliness are both excellent; it's a very nice modern hotel. Getting to the center of Cambridge University from the hotel, walking through meadows and along the river, is incredibly picturesque. Parking is also very convenient.

The hotel's location is very close to the city center, and the bedding is incredibly comfortable. What's even better is the breakfast — it's really generous! The Eggs Benedict were delicious, and the yogurt, bread, and sausages were all excellent. Definitely recommended!

I absolutely love the modern British style of this hotel. The public areas are incredibly well-designed and the atmosphere is very chill. I stayed in The Gormley apartment, which had excellent natural light and pleasant views from the window. The kitchen was fully equipped, even with a dishwasher, making it as convenient as being at home. The breakfast quality was great, with hot food and a full English breakfast option available. All the staff were polite and enthusiastic, proactively helping with luggage and calling taxis. Cambridge itself isn't large, so getting to all the attractions from the hotel was very convenient. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cambridge!

Very nice room and good facilities. We used the gym and sauna during the evening at adults only time (7-10pm). The Hotel is near the bus station and our room had good views. Staff is friendly and let us look around including breakfast services to let us decide if we wanted it or not. Very new kitchen with a cute recipe book included!

This was the largest room I stayed in during my UK trip. It's about a 15-20 minute walk to Trinity College and King's College in Cambridge city center. The area around is very quiet, and there's a supermarket about 100 meters away, so you can buy groceries and cook your own meals. There are also fast-food burger places nearby. Transportation is very convenient; you can take bus route 1 from Cambridge train station and it drops you right at the hotel entrance. When I first checked in, I found the cleanliness a bit lacking, especially the long sofa. However, after exploring the Cambridge University area, I realized that the entire Cambridge seems to have this damp, slightly old-fashioned feel. The shower was very comfortable, and the bathroom was also super spacious.
