"Very comfortable and clean hotel, not far from Cambridge Leisure Park, and within walking distance to the train station, but if you have a lot of luggage you still need to take a taxi"
"Cambridge is an expensive town. That said, the price of the room did not reflect the amenities or the size of the room. Basically, the bathroom was so small as to be useless, and the bedroom very poorly lit and felt cluttered.
The hotel is on top of a very cozy pub near Jesus Green, and within a comfortable walk to city centre. The room was clean and relatively quiet (the pub/hotel are located at a big intersection with frequent traffic).
It would be ideal if the room price was closer to 100£, rather than 200£…"
"The staff were enthusiastic and had bright smiles. They arrived early in the morning when I changed hotels. The staff told me that my room had been cleaned and they immediately handed it over to me.
The equipment is complete and the tableware is available. I can cook for one night.
The location is good, it takes 6 minutes to get to John Lewis.
I am very happy to have Smart TV, so I can watch YouTube which I usually follow.
The disadvantage is that it is close to the street and it is a bit noisy downstairs."

"Breakfast is average, it is normal, nothing special. The room is too small, and it is rare to live in such a small room at this price. There is a chair in the room, and it is necessary to find a waiter to give another chair. From the picture posted on the door, we stayed in the smallest room in the whole hotel. Really unhappy."
"It is a family hotel type hotel that focuses on warmth and comfort. It is located in a residential area around the city. There are no restaurants or supermarkets nearby, and it is far away from the main city. On the way to the main city, there are many barber shops along the way."
"It is a very convenient hotel. First of all, the location is very convenient. It is just a short walk away from the train station. The hotel's breakfast is relatively rich, including fruits and yogurt, which is friendly to travelers."
"Very clean amenities and in close proximity to the train station. Breakfast can be purchased at a reasonable price and there is also a kitchen available if you want to make your own food.
As for drawbacks, I’d say the bunk beds (especially the upper bunk) tend to creak a fair bit, and there was no water for several hours in the morning, making it very inconvenient to go to the bathroom or wash up. The bedside lamps are also too bright. Perhaps dim yellow ones would be better. All being said, it was still a nice stay."
"Self-service, you can cook for yourself, no one serves. The room is facing the street and the sound insulation is not good. The location is very good, in the city center, where to go, the price is also cheap."
"The room is small and clean, with a single bed and an independent bathroom. The price-performance ratio for single accommodation is quite high. The location is convenient and it's quiet.
The hotel staff is also very nice 👍
Breakfast is available for a fee, and you can choose it yourself.
When you go out, turn right and walk a short distance to another road, turn left and you will find a commercial street with various Chinese food shops, which is very convenient.
I would like to recommend."

Very Good
Ppeter nutbrownThis accommodation was excellent. for us.It was situated in a tiny village with only one local pub, which was ideal for us. Cambridge is only 10miles away.
The host was very friendly and welcoming. The Lodge was beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. A nice touch was a plate of fairy cakes and a jar of cookies to welcome you. There was also a jug of milk in the fridge. The bed was sublime. Extremely soft and comfortable. I normally only manage 3-4 hours sleep daily, but on our two night stay i slept right through both nights. Breakfast was a full English delivered to our door, and it was delicious. I can't recommend this place and it's host highly enough. If I'm visiting the area again Thorn House will definitely be my first choice.
CChi YuThe hotel's location is excellent. I arrived around 1:00 PM, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They arranged for an early check-in, allowing me to store my luggage in my room and promptly begin my exploration of Cambridge.
GGuest UserGood stay at this hotel, the room was nice and clean and it was quiet. Was great that there was a pool. There there were quite a few (small) areas for improvement which I will list as I think the hotel is new so will hopefully take on feedback. It probably wouldn’t stop us going again but it might not be our first choice for these reasons:
1) Staff not particularly helpful or welcoming. For example, we arrived we were not told that we had to come and get a separate key for the pool, which meant we had to trek there and back to get a new key.
2) When we tried to get back in our room on the morning of checkout, before 12pm, the checkout time, the key card wasn’t working. Staff did not apologise for this and it seemed to be a very common problem. It should be easy to fix and meant we could have been running late for checkout.
3) Speaking of reception staff, they are seated at a chest of drawers not a desk which almost certainly does not meet health and safety requirements, and looks a bit weird.
4) Not enough staff for checkout, probably because of the key problem above.
5) Parking situation is not ideal as you have to park in the station car park. There should be a discount for guests. Also the bit outside the hotel is reserved for taxis so not great if you need to be driven right up to the door as we were scared we would get fined for doing so.
6) The hairdryer was broken in the room.
7) Showers in the swimming pool changing rooms go off after about 5 seconds. Also the shower cubicles need a place to hang a towel, and ideally a bench so there is a private place to change.
CCarrie SohThis hotel is very spacious and suitable for family travelers. The hotel provides Dove brand shampoo and body wash.
Parking is also free. Suitable for self-driving travelers.
JJMBFGreat hotel with a cozy atmosphere. The room was large with a nice view out over the surrounding area. Location is great with a 10-15 minute walk into the center. Breakfast was surprisingly good.
CC WThe hotel is pretty new but the breakfast was so disappointing, food were not the same as menu descriptions. Location is a bit far from central but in a quiet and new area.
IIsaac SebastianQuite a decent breakfast. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bathrooms were equipped with doves finest washing products. Hooked my Chromecast up to the TV since they don't have smart TVs. If you decide to do this I recommend you use your partner's phone as a hotspot as the WiFi seemed to struggle to support Chromecast functionality.
LLi KimService was basic but expected of a budget hotel. Hotel was small but cosy. I liked that they had a proper desk that I could use since I am studying at Cambridge but didn’t manage to get a college room.
Bed was surprisingly comfortable despite being basic.
There are only 2 lifts which may be slow if there are large groups of people using it.
Location is near train station so that’s a plus point.
NNBWDespite the slightly tired looking exterior, this is an excellent choice if you want a hotel in Cambridge, with parking, and walking distance to the city centre. Our room was on the ground floor but facing the rear and was very peaceful. The room is quite small but everything worked, it was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the shower water pressure was fantastic.
Breakfast, included in our package, was very very good. Plenty of choice and the cooked food was served on piping hot plates. Best of all, Jackie and Jan, the two wonderful ladies who served us. Actually they did more than serve, they made our breakfast memorable and warm. I hope these two ladies are well regarded by the hotel management, as we really want to return based upon their personal and very welcoming characters. Lovely, lovely ladies.
In case you didn’t realise, we thoroughly recommend this hotel.
The average price for hotels in Cambridge is US$206 on weekdays, and US$225 on weekends (Friday-Saturday).
