Took a short weekend trip for my birthday. No special birthday treat. Hotel very clean, and all staff were extremely helpful and pleasant.
Rooms: Very spacious, no need to upgrade unless you want a balcony. A/C worked well. Nice shower and full size tub. Downsides: is 1 sink, and no vent in the toilet room.
Housekeeping: I wish I noted our camarista's name; it might have been Guadalupe. Anyway they did an excellent job plus they kept the mini-bar well-stocked. It would be nice if there were some light snacks provided.
Gift shop: exorbitant prices. We paid over thirty USD for a sunscreen. Advice to management is not to do this to your guests.
Pro tip - go to the Farmacia just outside the resort, about a 2 minute walk off the property.
Entertainment: Not enough to do after dinner.
Huge gym w/ Lots of equipment and yoga room.
Beach: Very clean, limited chairs and cabanas.
Food: Decent. I'm vegan and had no trouble finding things to eat.
Room service: very fast, fresh food.
A disappointment was the amount of time I wasted waiting to talk to the chef, only to have him tell me that there is something vegan at each restaurant, just ask, and that it's not as serious as if I had an allergy. I felt that was a very dismissive comment, as being vegan is extremely important to me.
