Queen Victoria Hotel by Newmark

We had a Mountain View suite - room 1205. The view across the V&A Waterfront to Table Mountain was spectacular and lovely to have a balcony so we could sit outside and watch the sunsets. The room was huge. A little strange to have a shower with a glass panel through to the entrance corridor, but made it a talking point ! Being right on the main road, it was a little noisy, but not so much so as to disturb us, and worth it for the views. A few steps to the V&A Waterfront. Breakfast was a good range of cold buffet and hot options (savoury and sweet). We also had the option of breakfast at the neighbouring Victoria & Alfred hotel, which served a wonderful breakfast. In both cases, possible to sit outside and enjoy the view of Table Mountain.

My husband and I spent a lovely 5 nights in this lovely hotel. The staff was most attentive and friendly. Coming from Miami, we were overwhelmed by the kindness of the people. The restaurant Dash was delicious and although you could also have breakfast (until 11 am) at the sister property by the water, we preferred it upstairs. The spa was also lovely. Had a pre-departure pedicure (lying down) and facial. We will be back for sure and will explore the Manor next time.

From start to end this hotel was sublime. Given a warm welcome, luggage taken care off and a drink upon arrival. Followed by being shown our stunning room. The rooms are beautiful. The location is right on the waterfront and easily walkable to lots of places. Easy ubers to other main sights. The view of the mountain at breakfast or an evening drink with the sunset capped it all off. Thanks for a great stay.

This is an absolutwlly wonderful hotel and location. Right by the action yet above it aonit is quiet and quaint. The rooms are beautiful, as is the customer service. My only hesitation on staying there again is the limited menus. For business travel you vaue beimg able to grab dinner etc lat at the hotel. The options are extremely limited. They will try to make ad hoc bur would be nice to have more options.

A beautiful and convenient hotel to start our South Africa trip. So central to the V&A, with all its shops, restaurants and bars. Our ground floor room with garden terrace was beautiful. We enjoyed breakfast every day at the hotel and the one evening meal we had in-house was amazing. The staff were always smiling and nothing was ever a bother. Thanks to everyone!

We stayed at The Queen Victoria for 6 nights on the first part of our holiday to South Africa. The hotel is in a perfect location, 5 minutes walk to the Waterfront, the red city sightseeing bus, or the ferries to Robben Island. The staff are wonderful and so helpful. A special mention must go to Gwen who welcomed us, recommended and booked restaurant reservations and arranged a wonderful trip to Cape Point, including the penguins on Boulders Beach. She seemed to know exactly what we’d like and “made it happen”. Oswald was also wonderful with a smile and helping hand, showing us the way to the sightseeing bus, helping with luggage and a lovely welcome each time you entered the hotel. Our room was perfect - huge comfy bed, plenty of storage space, and a big bathroom with 2 sinks, bath and shower room. Robes and slippers are provided and the hotel toiletries were excellent. Breakfasts were good with the usual selection of cold or freshly prepared hot dishes. We often ate on the veranda with views of table mountain, a lovely way to start the day. One morning we ate at The Victoria & Albert Hotel, across the road, where you can enjoy views of the harbour. Worth doing if you have the time. All in all this is a wonderful hotel to stay at and we would highly recommend it if considering where to stay in Capetown. Thanks to all the staff for a wonderful stay. We used the garden and pool area a couple of times during our stay as it’s a lovely place to relax. There were plenty of sun beds and a bar serving food and drinks. Unfortunately the water in the pool was too cold for us so we didn’t actually manage a swim. The garden is a haven of peace despite the busyness of the Waterfront being so close.

We stayed for 7 nights & really enjoyed our stay . All the team were friendly & helpful . The restaurant was great for breakfast ( we often took breakfast at sister hotel overlooking the dock ) & dinner was also good . The spa was also excellent. It’s a fabulous location & the pool was also a nice place to relax . Thanks all for a great stay !

The hotel is beautiful and located fantastically for the V&A waterfront. It is tucked away, just up from the waterfront so broadly speaking it is quiet and secluded (although unfortunately there was building works adjacent which were very loud). Staff were friendly, and helpful in particular the concierge who was fantastic. The rooms are large, spacious and well-equipped. In particular the bathroom was beautiful with a fantastic bath. The bar is well-stocked and like most places in South Africa, very well-priced. Breakfast was fantastic, and as part of your stay you can dine in their sister hotel on the Waterfront (we can highly recommend this). Overall a fantastic stay, and we would definitely stay again, or in the sister hotel if returning to Cape Town.

Can't fault this hotel at all. From the moment we were picked up by Douglas their driver from the airport to Oswald the lovely man who greeted us with his huge smile everyone at the manor house was really friendly and helpful. The hotel is literally 2 minutes away from the V&A waterfront in a safe area. Our suite was huge with a bathroom to match!! Nicely decorated and a great comfortable bed. Everything was top notch. Breakfast was plentiful and a good choice. Lovely bar too! Highly recommend this fabulous hotel. Just to make clear we stayed at the Manor house at the Queen victoria hotel. Our only complaint, we weren't there long enough (I night) before joining a cruise.
