We had such a lovely time at 21 Nettleton. The setting is gorgeous and the hotel takes advantage of its stellar location with views of the ocean from so many rooms and the grounds. We enjoyed sitting on our large balcony watching the sunset and eating breakfast on the lawn overlooking the beautiful blue sea and sky. The team at the hotel was wonderful - attentive, but not too much so, helpful, interesting, and friendly. We enjoyed talking with them and getting their advice and stories. It was so nice to be in the lovely place and then dipping down into town for visits.

I stayed at 21 Nettleton for my birthday from 17 September 2025 for three nights, and I can say without hesitation that it was the most exceptional hospitality experience of my entire life. I stayed in the penthouse, and from the moment I arrived, I felt not just welcomed, but deeply taken care of. The level of attentiveness, warmth, and genuine care from the staff is something I have never experienced anywhere else in the world. This was not service, it was thoughtful, intuitive hospitality at its highest level. What made the experience truly special was how the team went beyond the walls of the property. They took time to help me understand Cape Town at its best, sharing recommendations, insights, and hidden gems that made me fall in love with the city in an entirely new way. It felt personal, intentional, and incredibly generous. The views are beyond breathtaking, something that simply cannot be captured in photos. The art, the design, the quiet elegance of the space, and the way luxury and comfort coexist so effortlessly is remarkable. The food was outstanding, beautifully presented, and deeply satisfying, every meal felt like a moment. 21 Nettleton is not just a hotel; it is an experience, a feeling, and a memory that stays with you long after you leave. Every single detail is considered. Every interaction is meaningful. It is worth every single cent, and then some. Thank you to the entire team for making my birthday so special and for setting a standard of excellence that is truly unmatched. I will never forget this stay, and I cannot wait to return.

If I could give 6 stars, I would! Breakfast here is truly in a league of its own—far above the rest. Imagine uninterrupted views stretching out before you, the gentle sound of birdsong, and a tranquil atmosphere that makes you feel completely at one with nature and your surroundings. From the very start, the hospitality impressed me. On arrival, with the temperature soaring at 38 degrees, Nathan Berry, the house manager, welcomed us with ice-cold beverages—a thoughtful touch that was exactly what we needed. The food itself was exceptional, but what elevates the experience even further is the service. Frankie, one of the best butlers I’ve ever encountered, made the morning feel effortless and special. His warmth and professionalism added a personal touch that turned a great breakfast into an unforgettable one.

On the scorching day we had an amazing breakfast at Nettleton, out Butler Frankie was amazing, he was polite and so friendly, ensured we had everything we needed, when the sun started shifting Frankie made sure our shading shifted as well. I stayed here for a few weeks with family members to visit Cape Town and escape the winter in Milan. I hardly know where to begin with this review. Everything was 5-star, but in 2 areas it should have been higher, those of service and food. One of the amenities is "butler" service. Boy, they were not kidding. Anything I needed was kindly provided by a warm and dedicated staff. So much so that it really raises the bar for quality of service for luxury boutique hotels. Now on to the food. We were looking forward to enjoying the many fun restaurants that Cape Town has to offer, but the food served at this hotel surpassed anything else we tried. It's partially due to the talented chef and staff, but also, they aren't running a commercial restaurant kitchen; it's what I would call a mansion kitchen, where everything is made to order for you. I literally stopped leaving the hotel for dinner. This stay will be a great memory, not because Cape Town is a great holiday destination, but because of the time I spent at this incredible hotel.

i’m writing this review in my new hotel room, feeling like a spoiled brat. we left 21 nettleton this morning, after four nights at a place that somehow managed to feel like a summer dream without ever trying to sell itself as one. i booked it last minute after we decided, about a month before departure, to extend our south africa trip. the view over camps bay is what sold me. and yes, the view is insane. but i had no idea what else we were walking into. our go-to hotel chain is park hyatt, whose brand philosophy is “luxury is personal.” i will say this. 21 nettleton takes that idea several steps further. it feels less like a hotel and more like a private summer house, one that just happens to be perfectly run. there were days we didn’t see another guest at all. the staff are thoughtful and proactive without ever being intrusive. going on a morning hike? they pack you a breakfast bag. want to go to the oranjezicht market? they’ll drive you. mention, once, in passing, that you forgot a hair tie but want to run the next morning? two packs appear that night. planning to attend the summer concert at kirstenbosch? of course they’ll have the chefs prepare a picnic basket. and yes, a bottle of house wine will be included. the list goes on. thank you to the 21 nettleton team. especially godwin, ropa, nathan, and harry for being kind, thoughtful, and completely on top of everything. we leave rested, slightly embarrassed by how good we had it, and quietly recalibrating what we now expect from luxury hotels.

Staying at 21 Nettleton honestly felt surreal — waking up to those sweeping ocean views with the Twelve Apostles right behind me was unforgettable. I loved how every corner had its own story, filled with stunning art and sculptures that made the whole place feel warm, creative, and deeply personal.

My fiancé and I spent 7 nights at 21 Nettleton and were wowed by our entire experience. The location at the top of Clifton has the best views in Cape Town overlooking Clifton Beach, Camps Bay, and the 12 Apostles with unobstructed views. The butler service is exceptional. They are quickly responsive to all requests that guests send through the in-room iPad, and you are given a WhatsApp contact to make requests when you are off-premises. The staff made an effort to get to know our preferences -- as an example after we had ordered Coke Zeros a few times the butler offered to swap out all the regular Cokes in our complimentary minibar for Coke Zeros. We would also highlight the hotel’s concierge capabilities (we loved Nathan!), they arranged massages, a private yoga class, and a private hiking guide, and all were very high quality. Last shoutout to the chef’s signature homemade berry crumble, one of the best desserts we’ve ever had!

From the moment we were picked up at the airport we experienced the most amazing service. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Nathan helped us make the most of our time in Cape Town and I’d recommend hiring the car and knowledgable guide (Shack) for the day. Our suite - Queen - had the best view of anywhere we’ve stayed before. Dinner, breakfast and afternoon canapés were delicious. Black Ubers were always close by and easy to get you into the centre. Recommendations for dinner / bars were spot on. We’ll definitely be back and can’t recommend it highly enough. We felt like royalty!

I know it’s easy to exaggerate reviews when you love it and had a great time, but 21 Nettleton is seriously the most incredible place I’ve stayed at in recent years. Never have I seen luxury blended with charm in this way. And since it’s super easy to write a few words that proves nothing I will therefore let the pictures do the talking. (Pictures are not edited!) Probably the best hotel in South Africa in 2025.

We loved every bit of our stay here. The staff were friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. The location was perfect and the views were nothing short of spectacular with all the Clifton beaches in site. We loved the fact that we could hear the ocean while lying by the pool. It was also convenient to hike lions head right from our doorstep. This is our second time visiting this hotel, this time we took the airbnb option and were still able to add breakfast onto our stay. We cannot wait to return!!

We stayed for 5 nights at the apartment of the 21 Nettleton and were overwhelmed by the stunning views and beauty of the apartment and hotel. A much needed staycation with our 8month old son,celebrating Dads birthday. From arrival to exit, we were treated royally. Spacious well designed room.Tranquility & vast ocean views. Dirk, Alvhin & the rest of the team make your stay truly exceptional. Great food - breakfast is a treat & loads of space on the lawn to relax by the pool. Can’t wait to return.
