The hotel is situated in a very nice area and very very safe. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Cape Town.

This hotel is a stone's throw from the main drag in Camps Bay and, as the name suggests, a beautiful retreat. It's a lovely central building with most rooms distributed across a small bridge that provides amazing views over the site. The accommodation is admittedly a bit of a splurge but food, drinks and services onsite are very good value, service is great and I would really recommend a stay because you're worth it!

Stayed here for 4 very relaxing and peaceful nights. Breakfasts were super, with a great selection of hot, freshly cooked options. Served on a terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens. We had dinner here one night, which was delicious. Staff are wonderful, kind, smiling and attentive. The retreat is close to the beaches and promenade, yet secluded away enough to be peaceful. We stayed in a villa room, across the bridge, rather than the hotel itself. We would highly recommend a stay here.

Advertised as a Retreat and Adult only. It is a busy noise Hotel with babies and children allowed in the Hotel, Restaurant and Grounds. There is a high turn over of customers similar to a Travelodge. There is also a Padel Court directly adjacent to the Hotel which is busy throughout the day and evening. The service is good but food is very average to poor. There are no umbrellas available with sun beds. Pools are very small and Hotel needs refurbishment. the carpets are “minging”. Staff are excellent and extremely pleasant. This is not a 5 star Hotel, 3 star at best. Location is 5 star.

Excellent hotel with lodges and apartments situated throughout lovely grounds at the foot of table mountain and the 12 apostles. Great staff and excellent food, particularly the breakfast. A great base for exploring Cape Town and the cape.

A wonderful setting and very easy access to the beaches and restaurants through the hotel's wonderful grounds. However, you need to be fully mobile to be able to walk down and up the steep, stepped gardens. Also the beaches are beautiful but it is not recommended to swim in the sea due to the rip currents. However there is a tidal pool on the far end of Camp's Bay Beach, about 15minutes walk, and also there are many pools at the Hotel to choose from.

Location, staff, food are wonderful. The spa located as part of the hotel - same thing here. Location next to the beach and 5 min walk to Camps Bay (shops, bars, restaurants). Truly amazing! Overall one of the best hotels in Cape Town.

This is an incredibly beautiful and well-maintained property with breathtaking views! All the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel grounds are incredible and very well maintained, there was always someone there tending to the vegetable gardens or the gardens. All the natural pools and walking trails are so unique and special that you could really spend a whole day just exploring the hotel itself. The terrace overlooking the sea and sunset is the perfect place to spend an evening. The breakfast was delicious! The location is safe and only a 10-minute walk from Camps Bay Tidal Pool, which is great for swimming and has a playground nearby, which is ideal when traveling with children.

This is a beautiful property which is full of fauna and flora. The rooms we had were comfortable, clean, stylish but practical and roomy with a fabulous view. Its very easy to walk into Camps Bay and you feel safe as soon as you enter the property. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely with very good options. It was pricey over the Christmas period and this is why I will move on to the negatives below as we expected more for the cost. There are a few ways the place could improve for instance we booked a padel lesson however on arrival there was no one to do it and we ended up just playing on the court. The dog needs to be trained better so as not to foul on the carpet. We were being picked up very early and asked that the security to open the gate for the driver but this never happened. Service is slow and on our last day was chaotic - it seemed the kitchen couldn't cope with the numbers and communication between staff was lacking. The manager Vanessa didn't seem to have a handle on the situation which went from bad to worse. The 'nature pool' was too natural for our liking. If the hotel spent less time on instagram posts and focussed more on getting the core stuff right then this place would be much better.
