Lovely hotel right in the middle of the city center. It has excellent views, a sweet little gym and pool and their breakfast buffet is to die for 🙂😋. We especially loved the warm and caring service of Waiter Siphenathi.

I stayed in Southern Sun, Cape Sun Hotel in Cape Town for 2nights. The hotel is beautiful. The one memorable staff that made our stay more comfortable & worth coming back is Siphenathi. He was warm, helpful & very kind. It was home away from home. Indeed he is the staff of the week. Give him his flowers 💐💐💐💐🌹🌹🌹.

The Atmosphere of the Hotel is breathtaking with the Old Vintage ambiance still surrounding the hotel. The Lobby and restaurant is welcoming and warm. The only issue experienced was the room was still very out of date in terms of Decor and functionality. The Swimming pool was very underwhelming aswell.

The Southern Sun brand never disappoints, from the porters to the waiters, everyone is friendly and creates a positive, classy atmosphere. The only reason that I did not give it a 5 star rating is due to the front desk ladies not being friendly and not being helpful. Other than that what a pleasant experience. The food is great, the service at breakfast and dinner brilliant and most importantly hygiene is taken very seriously and I was impressed at how clean everything always is, from rooms, to cutlery to the balustrades in the elevator. Simply classy and elegant. Now that is how you run a hotel!

This has been my favourite hotel in Cape Town because of the big rooms, beautiful views and excellent service. However, I think it is time I find an alternative. It has been coming. In my last stay which was in the last week of January, I had some set backs. The city experienced strong winds and I struggled to sleep on the first night as the window was making noise. I dismissed it as an extra-ordinary event. I suffer from chronic insomnia so it was hell. The following night, I could not take it and requested a technician just to check if I was not going crazy. She came and found the noise was excessive and informed front desk that there was something wrong with the window and there was nothing she could do to fix it. I was taking to some rooms to check if I will be comfortable. The first room had high noise levels and the second one was perfect. So we agreed that I go for dinner and when I come back I will move into that room. When I came back and was ushered to the room I had chosen we discovered that I was actually taken to the one I had rejected. the one I had chosen was given to someone else whilst I was at dinner. We then went room hunting again until I found a compromise room. The hotel need to do something about windows. The quality (consistency) of food at dinner has been a problem for sometime. I had complained before and thought with the new Indian Chef things will improve. The meal on first day was acceptable but started deteriorating for the rest of the week. On Thursday 30th January, my last night we had a "seafood curry/stew". Many people struggled as this in my opinion was a speciality food, you cannot have it as a main meal. I do not eat any sea food other then normal fish and some of my colleagues chose to order from outside. I had asked for Chef earlier on in the week and seemed like he was only available for the weekend. Food quality need to be improved.

We stayed here post cruise and had a room overlooking Table Mountain. Brilliant to watch the sunset and sunrise. Excellent rooms with large comfortable beds and pillows. Very effective shower. Well maintained. The hotel has a large downstairs lounge area. The breakfast was varied and very good, as were all the staff, very happy and helpful. Drinks are well priced, as are the snacks and meals. We wanted to go down to the Waterfront and were advised by a staff member not to walk and they kindly ordered us an Uber, which cost around £2.50, amazing value. We asked if it was ok to walk outside the hotel and were advised only to turn left and walk towards Bree Street, where most of the restaurants are located, but definitely not to turn right. Overall a very pleasant stay, made especially so by staff advice.

We were fortunate to have a room on the 31st floor of this hotel that provided an amazing view of Table Mountain. Our room was large and clean, and we enjoyed three good nights sleep in the comfortable bed. Breakfast was ok but repetitive, and there was a limited food menu for lunch and the evening. Service was also slow. The hotel is in a good location for the waterfront, a short taxi ride away.

Very nice hotel, worth every cent. The open window elevators with views of the Table mountain are fantastic! We had a room with views of the mountain and could watch the sunrising with the clouds covering the top - absolutely breathtaking! Nice part of town with a very short and cheap taxi ride to the Waterfront

The suite (room 2911) offers a spectacular view of the city and part of the waterfront. Rooms are spacious, modern and clean. This suite has 2 bathrooms, bedroom, lounge, dining/office area, tea/coffee station. Beautifully decorated with books and sea shells and current artworks. The elevator is glass and hence offers a good view also. The designated parking is far too tight though. Not a comfortable experience to park there. Buffet dinner is adequate. On this stay we met the Indian chef who did cook a very flavourful Briyani and jeera aloo.

Good quality stay in the heart of the Cape Town CBD. Excellent meals. Beautiful rooms with a view of the mountain. Parking narrow and problematic. Enjoy the use of lifts - just the nieuws. But worth it for the business traveller. I will return
