he massage therapists were absolutely incredible and out of this world - and the only highlight of the entire experience. (They get 5 stars from me). Every treatment felt luxurious, relaxing, and delivered with genuine care and professionalism. The jacuzzi and sauna facilities were also excellent - clean, relaxing, and a perfect compliment to the spa experience. Unfortunately, the reception staff had all the warmth and enthusiasm of the gloomy, rainy weather we experienced that day. It was quite something to go from the peaceful, positive energy of the spa therapists to a front desk atmosphere that felt like a passing storm cloud. Would probably go again, so I could experience the magical massage - but wish I didn’t have to be “unwelcomed” by those receptionists ever again.

Exceptional from start to finish. It’s hard to put into words what Babylonstoren is. It’s a huge working farm, it’s a spa resort, it’s a retreat. It’s a homage to sustainability, it’s beautifully designed and crafted gardens, it’s a tranquil escape. They’ve thought of everything. Great staff, excellent service, all with smiles and ‘Hellos’, from the reception to the restaurants at breakfast, lunch and dinner! Loved every second of our three days here!

Babel restaurant sat outside, staff were excellent and very knowledgeable. Set menu but were given at least three tasters that were really tasty. Foof had great flavours and presented beautiflly.

Very impressive working farm and hotel .We had a wonderful cottage near a lake .You have to drive back to main areas in a golf buggy as the cottages are about 2 km out of main hotel area .The hotel had an impressive swimming pool , reasonably good food .It is open to people not staying hotel who come from outside fur a day experience , so you have to bear that in mind .Beautiful gardens of produce and Vineyards .Had a beautiful truck tour of hills surrounding the farm and the plants for farm in those areas as well .Its a luxury farm house hotel stay . Staff were amazing .There was one safety concern that o pointed out and that was that it wasn’t ideal that clients could be left alone with a canoe on the lake and just wonder in and out of the unmanned pool house .The lake had a strong breeze on it and it is very cold , dark , deep water , so this safety concern was pointed out to management of which they seemed to have taken note. All in all a very memorable and unique place to stay .

Wow! We recently stayed at Babylonstoren as part of a larger South Africa trip. Their service and hospitality stood out. They included several extra touches to make our stay feel special (we were celebrating a birthday). All of the staff are incredible and go above and beyond in each interaction. Every member of staff seems to know who you are as a guest and has access to an overview of your planned itinerary, so they can efficiently answer any questions you might have. Special acknowledgment to Jerome and Jeremy. Their service level is above and beyond (attentive, responsive, anticipatory, and friendly). At such a large property that is also open to the public, I was worried some of the details for guests might get overlooked. That's simply not the case. The stay felt personal, tailored, and elevated. Thank you so much for a beautiful stay!

Great place to stay but the cottages lack good lighting in the living room and comfy seating outside. That said we enjoyed our stay

The hotel was overrun by day guests and not enough provision has made for the needs of hotel guests. Service of the bar area at the lower pool was poor , but overall the staff was very friendly and willing to help.

A rural idal. Great balance between attentive staff and allowing you to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the whole estate. We loved the farm to table approach and food was seasonal and delicious. Our room was exactly as shown on the website and beautifully appointed with a quiet private terrace. The spa was an excellent retreat as was the pool area. Overall this is a beautiful location and wonderfully restful.

We stayed three nights at the hotel. We loved it but I must say that you HAVE to stay at the fynbo cottages to avoid the crowds of day visitors and shortcomings that of the other reviewers point out. Our experience was great, service was impecable. They went out of their way to accommodate us. Food is delicious and fresh. The pool where the cottages are is perfect (if more people had been there it would not have been the same because it is not very big). The Spa treatment was excellent but the Spa building and facilities is nothing special (disappointing given how beautiful the place is). The cottages are very comfortable and well appointed. Good taste. We enjoyed out stay very much. Three nights is about right
