"Great for a budget work-study day, but hygiene needs a serious upgrade I checked into The Pod Boutique on a Thursday afternoon (3:30 PM) specifically to test out their ”business-friendly” reputation. While it serves as a decent, affordable alternative to a café for co-working, there are several pros and cons to consider before booking The Work Experience (Co-working & Amenities) The hostel offers a dedicated co-working space and private office booths The Good: Plenty of power sockets under the tables, a water cooler, and free-flow coffee/tea. There’s a communal fridge and microwave (label your food!) if you want to bring your own snacks The Not-so-Good: The co-working area has no air-conditioning. There are no non-caffeinated options (like Milo or Hot Chocolate) and no snacks provided. The Office Booths: These are a bit dim and not soundproof, so they aren’t ideal for confidential or high-stakes calls. The Bunk & Stay (Mixed Dorm) As a solo female traveler, I felt safe here. There are cameras throughout the property, and the interior of the bunk itself was clean, comfortable, and smelled nice. Inside the Pod: You get one power socket, a towel rack, a hook, and a small shelf Privacy & Noise: The blind is quite translucent, offering little privacy. It isn’t soundproof, so expect noise during the early morning and late-night ”rush hours.” The Catch: There is no mini-table inside the pod, so you can't work from your bed; it's strictly for resting The Downsides Cleanliness: This was the biggest issue. The toilet hallways are very dirty, yet guests are required to remove shoes before entering. Walking barefoot there was quite unpleasant Facilities: There is only one lift (the stairs are faster/more reliable). The pantry is bare-bones (just sugar and stirrers), they charge for cutlery, and no breakfast is provided Value: Honestly, this feels like a ”slightly nice” hostel rather than a ”Boutique” experience. I wouldn’t pay the standard $42–$50 rate for this quality. However, at the $22 discounted rate I got through Trip.com, it’s a fair trade-off for a quiet place to study Summary: If you need a cheap place to crash and do some light laptop work, it’s okay—just bring your own slippers for the bathroom and don't expect a premium ”boutique” feel"

"It is a mixed feeling, let’s start with a good Location is amazing, the staff is friendly , The sleeping cube is nice. (I was lucky to put in the room where everyone sleep early just like myself , and no one snore lol 😝) The package storage is quite impressive, I could fit in the super big luggage inside my cube. The downside is that if you don’t have the strength, there’s no elevator to your cube but you can leave him downstairs under the ground floor. Now at the less nice things but constructive: The toilet and shower really need a renovations, the doors are broken and there’s a lot of limescale over the place. It smells like sewage in one of the shared toilet and shower. I need to read a place separately: Location 10/10 Clean rooms and efficient storage 10/10 Toilet and shower 3/10 I don’t want to post all the damaged But for 100 euro for 3 nights, the management need to do something about repairing all the doors of the shower."

"Everything in there was good, however I'm not sure about the toilet and the shower in the same place, if you want to do #2 in the toilet you have to undress part of your body because the floor is wet, which is quite annoying, the rest everything was good, I spent one night btw..."

"First time staying in a capsule hotel. Initially didn't have much expectations abt the stay since it's only for 1 night. However, I was very surprised abt the overall experience. I had to say I am still quite satisfied abt this stay. No doubt there were still room for improvement. Pro: 1) Excellent location, near Bugis MRT station exit D (Downtown line) Easy to go to Airport thru the East West line at Bugis MRT station. 2) Close to Bugis Junction, Bugis+, Bugis Street shopping area with lots of eateries too. 3) Easy and fast check-in and check-out at the hotel thru the self service kiosk. 4) Staff at the hotel was polite and helpful though may not always be at the counter. Tks for granting my request for a lower deck bed. 5) Not sure abt the other rooms, but luckily for me, the roommates in my room were all well behaved and disciplined, with no loud talking or disturbances. I did have a good sleep. Cons: 1) The entrance to the hotel was quite messy with lots of shoes blocking the way. Probably not enough shoe racks. 2) The women's toilet was actually ok, not smelly as other reviews mentioned. Although the floor was always wet and rubbish bins were full and not cleared. 3) Personally I felt that the bed was a bit short in length. I'm 165cm and my legs are nearly touching the end of the bed. So it can be a bit uncomfortable for taller ladies. 4) Though the cleanliness of the bedsheets and pillow are acceptable for a budget hotel, I still discovered many tiny black dots on them. The only complain on cleanliness would be the curtain blind inside the cubicle. A lot of stains and dirt seen. I had to use wet wipes to clean them off. 5) The carpet look worn out and dirty too. Advisable to wear socks to walk ard the hotel since shoes are not allowed inside. To conclude, will still recommend this budget hotel for budget conscious travellers due to it's strategic location."

"Pleasant stay in pod hotel. Close to MRT metro service so easy access to and from the airport which was major concern for this trip. Arrived late so had some difficulty figuring out access to pod and its functions, but once understood, all went well for the rest of my stay. Convenient Thai restaurant nearby."

"The overall environment is clean and tidy, everything is well-organized. Both the room and the bathroom were spotless. I highly recommend staying here. The breakfast was also delicious, and the location is convenient, close to all attractions and within walking distance to the metro station. They even gave me a gua sha board, which looked like it was made of some kind of pink stone – truly a thoughtful brand. I hope Kinn continues to thrive. The male front desk staff member was patient and had a good attitude. However, the female staff member had a very poor attitude that made me uncomfortable. If it weren't for this somewhat discriminatory dark-skinned female receptionist, I would have given you a 10-star rating. Because of her, it's only an 8. Also, it was my own mistake; I booked the wrong date. I meant to check in on the 23rd but booked for the 22nd and didn't show up. Consider it a gift of one night to you."

"Positives- This hostel was overall very nice. It had many working spaces along with charging ports. I never had to wait for a toilet or shower. The room itself was very clean and the bedding was comfortable.  The staff are also friendly and helpful. The location is amazing. Very close to cool cafes, restaurants, and not far from the subway (less than 10 mins walk).   Negative- I couldn't find a way to turn off the dorm's main light, but it is dim and there is a curtain, so it's doable. However, if you need 100% darkness to sleep, I recommend bring a sleeping mask. Conclusion- I would definitely stay here again! :)"

"Loved our stay at Cube Capsule Hotel! 🏙️ You can’t beat the location — right in the middle of Chinatown, so food, shops, and sights are just steps away. Staff were super friendly and the place was squeaky clean. We were looking forward to the kids’ slide but didn’t see it, and some toilets didn’t have a bidet. Still, it’s a cool, comfy spot we’d happily book again!"

"I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with any request. The location was very convenient, with easy access to transport and nearby attractions. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and quick. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend this hotel to others. I would be happy to stay here again in the future."

"I’ll start with the good things, the staff was nice and helpful, the breakfast was decent considering the price (toasts, cereals, milk, coffee, tea and apples), the location was convenient. I liked the neighborhood which is also well connected by bus to the city center. Things I’d accept for the price are the size of the room which was very small (no space for people to cross in the room), mattress wasn’t great and a bit noisy as it’s covered in a sort of plastic (maybe hygienic), no sheets but a blanket that looked clean. Things I think are not acceptable : the hotel needs serious refurbishment, there’s mold in the room, in the bathroom, … One toilet was broken and was leaking on the floor. There’s serious room for improvement in terms of cleanliness, look at what was below the mattress for instance. I saw two cockroaches running around the room. Some lockers for the bags are very small (size of cabin luggage) and as the room is tiny, you have to put your bag in the bag storage downstairs. One person left the locker open for 3 nights as the bag wasn’t fitting and someone cut his leg on it. I stayed at another hostel for one night which was 20% more expensive and was so much better (Dream Lodge @ Tyrwhitt)"
