Best Hotels in Carbis Bay

Me and my partner Jenna got married here then stayed the night and it was a fantastic day/experience. We had around 60 guests with more coming in the evening and everything went perfectly no thanks to Harriet and the main man Stefan ! Im not sure if these guys work every wedding but you need to ask for them as they were brilliant. Always had a drink in our hands, guiding us from here to there making sure we were on time, and anything we needed we just had to ask and 30 seconds later it was done. They really helped make our day special. The hotel itself was also great, really well looked after grounds against a stunning backdrop of St Ives, and very tidy inside. We have absolutely no complaints at all with the hotel or staff, if we were to get married again, we would pick Tregenna in a heartbeat. Also a special thank you to the security man on the gate, great guy and he drove my disabled mum around in a golf buggy all day and made her feel like the queen.

As the title says, this is the second time I've stayed at this great B&B, having first stayed here in 2018. Looking back to my review then, my comments now are pretty much the same, with no complaints from an enjoyable few weeks' stay. First of all, location wise this B&B is in a great spot. About ten minutes leisurely walk from the Carbis Bay train station (which gets you to St Ives in minutes or slightly longer to St Erth, which is on the main line from Penzance to London and beyond). A few minutes longer and you’re on the beach. A bus stop right opposite with regular buses into St Ives or one a few minutes walk that can take you further afield (the coaster to Padstow, for example). You can also walk into St Ives, which takes a leisurely 30 minutes either following the road or by picking up the South West coast path down by the beach. The B&B is well maintained and well presented. I stayed in a small double room on the top floor with fantastic views of the coast. Tea/coffee making facilities are provided as well as a hairdryer. The bed/shower were both fine and I had no complaints about any aspects of the room. I slept soundly every night. Breakfast was continental, but with plenty of choice including fruit, pastries, various cereals, yoghurts, toast, waffles etc. Self service on everything except tea, which the owner Adrian provides if requested. This was perfect for my purposes and kept everything relaxed. It also means that breakfast extends over a couple of hours, from 8am to 10am, which provides for flexibility and should be fine for most people’s purposes. Adrian is friendly and helpful, checking in with everyone at breakfast and when you bump into him during the day. Just what you look for when you stay in a B&B. As I noted when I wrote a review in 2018, it is obvious that he has pride in what he’s doing, which helps to make the stay more enjoyable. WiFi is provided and on the top floor I had no connectivity issues. Overall, an excellent B&B.

Ground floor room with shower, compact one small wardrobe, no kng size bed which nowadays are pretty well standard, my bedside table collapse, cheap self assembly. The Hotel as steps at entrance and steps inside to bar and dining room. Rather small lift to other floors. Breakfast self service for hot & cold food, down steps to dining room, meals average neither good or bad. We think they are packing too many Coach Tours at one time, causing meal times to be variable and not consistent.

Five-star recommendation, super location, invincible sea view, breakfast included, mainly the scenery is very good, just next to the train station, there is a small road into the restaurant, the bar and the bar are sea views, there is a large terrace outside, sitting can drink Afternoon tea, sit at the bar and drink at night, watching the seascape outside. The room I booked was small, but it was not bad. It also provided slippers and bathrobes, bath towels, etc. It was very convenient to go down to the beach for a few minutes. It was the most recommended hotel next to the beach, and it was relatively new.

When you a stay at Lifeboat Inn in St Ives, you'll be near the beach, just steps from St Ives Harbour and Harbour Sand. This inn is 2.7 mi (4.4 km) from Carbis Bay Beach and 9.7 mi (15.6 km) from St. Michael's Mount.At Lifeboat Inn, enjoy a satisfying meal at the restaurant. We popped in just before 7:30 on a Wednesday night wanting something to eat. The lady with short hair and glasses working behind the bar wasn't the friendliest or welcoming of staff I'd met during my last 10 days in Cornwall. Anyway I ordered rump steak medium and my husband ordered the beef lasagne. When the food was served, my husband had been given a vegetable lasagne instead of the meat one ordered. He went to see the lady behind the who said that the chef had ran out so that's what you have been given. No option for anything else or anything. My steak was not cooked medium but instead rare, and peas were stone cold. When the said bar lady came over to the table I said how disappointed we were and asked why we were not given the choice for something else off of the menu. She simply said she just serves the food, its nothing to do with her and only relays what's given from the kitchen. I said an apology would have been nice and that someone should have taken ownership of the situation. Clearly she couldn't care less, after all we had already paid. She done nothing to rectify the situation and did not even apologise. Infact her response was which was actually more like a threat was that if we stick around long enough we could meet the landlord. So we finished our drink and left. It is a basic to order and get the correct item but it would seem they will just serve you anything here no matter what you ordered.
