The staff who I phoned on arrival was brilliant as I don't come from Cardiff, I came from London and thr lady stayed on phone with me telling me where to go and park ect. Parking is terrible as no parking on site so you have to park at NCP multi story car park which would of cost £19.99 per night but luckily I had family near by so I parked else where. My hotel room was not clean as in walls were dirty and tea stains. Thr bed was nice tho and was clean. The shower rim at bottom was held on with black tape and what I payed was not worth it at all. Iv paid the same amount for different hotels and was so much better. This this was very disappointing so much. Hat to pick keys up from the chicken shop next door. Thr stairs where very worn out and looking shabby and the stairs so steep and alot of them and with asthma problems I didn't really go out due to this. I can fault the staff tho as had problems with my remote which they sorted straight away and was so lovely so thr staff made it nice but thr hotel it self needs a big refurbishment. I won't be staying here again.

Unfortunately, i actually had to cancel due to a family circumstance and they were very understanding and accommodating. When i next get a chance to go to Cardiff, i will definitely book to stay here again as they havs been nothing but lovely about everything

Great hotel in the centre of Cardiff. Clean room and comfortable beds. The only downside the ladies had was that there was no full length mirror in the room. Did have Ironing board and iron in the room along with TV, Hair dryer and tea and coffee. Thank you for your hospitality. Make sure you get your parking voucher before you leave as had to pay £32 instead of the £20 quoted.

Really comfortable bed and nice spacious light room. Would definitely return as it’s right in the centre of Cardiff and great value. On seeing the negative reviews I agree it could do with updating and there are areas that aren’t particularly clean like the extraction fan in the bathroom and the condensation build up in the bedroom but overall on somewhere to stay in the heart of Cardiff it’s good 😊

Curtains didn’t cover the windows fully. Mildew on window frames and above curtain pole. Carpet threadbare, Shower curtain dirty Bathroom floor in desperate need of refurbishment Carpet on stairs accessing rooms extremely threadbare

Great location. Walking distance from train station, castle, great pubs and restaurants. Rooms spacious and had everything you needed. Beds and pillows comfy but could have done with and extra blanket or two. Would definitely stay again.

Room was clean. Reception at Gyros Hut was friendly and efficient. Had cold shower on first night but young lad from Gyros Hut sorted it out! Very clever! Room was cleaned after three days which was silly as we stayed for four. That meant we had to get fresh supplies of tea/ coffee/ shampoo etc every day. WiFi was VERY bad and messed up both our iPads. We ended up checking mail at the Central Library,

Communal area not very clean, definitely needs a lick of paint, no handrails on the stairs, and the stairs are steep, thankfully I only had 2 flights to climb up, bed wasn't very comfortable, didn't even sleep in it, in fact I didn't stay there, just used it to store my bag, have a shower and a cup of tea, didn't feel safe staying there on my own. The view wasn't very nice either, curtains needed a wash and the furniture could do with being rubbed down and varnished. Bedding and towels were clean I will say that

Firstly we were charged FOUR TIMES the normal rate as we attended a concert at the arena and the owner up’d the rate because of this. First impressions of meeting the staff, albeit in the kebeb house, was good. Friendly and polite. The location was also really good. The climb up 4 flights of steep stairs with carpet worn down to the bear floor in places was not a great start. The room appeared clean and very basic. The bathroom door handle was only held on with two out of four screws so dare not close the door with the chance it might come off and would be stuck in there. There was a hairdryer but no mirror to use. The curtains were hanging off a couple of clips and were no good at keeping any light out. They were tired on worn. The room furniture was old and worn. The mattress was obviously of poor quality and was not comfortable at all so didn’t sleep well. On returning from our night at the arena there was no running water. As there was a phone in the room I attempted to ring reception/kebab counter to report this but the phone did not work. Was plugged in but not dial tone/noise! Staff were alerted by another customer and after approx 40mins this was resolved which was good. Overall not a great experience and i am sorry to say we would not stay again or recommend to family or friends. If we had paid the normal price i would not be too bother but as we paid four times the normally price i not best pleased will the overall value and experience.
