Amverton Cove Golf & Island Resort
4/563 Reviews
My visit here was disappointing. I booked Amverton Villa (most expensive) room and it was in bad condition. At first glance it looks great until you really take in the villa, only then do you notice how badly it needs maintenance. The rooms have weird brown stains on the floor and some curtains was also dirty. The panes on the windows and etc was dirty. The pool was clean but I doubt they did anything other than scrape fallen leaves out of the pool. Which is scary considering the covid virus. The hotel is severely under staff. The same staff is working multiple different chores and because of that their services are very slow. The most disappointing is the activity. I booked this place because it was deem as very kids friendly hotel, however they had failed to inform us (and in their website) that the Kids Fun Zone was closed due to covid restrictions (odd how that can be more dangerous compare to shared swimming pool). Kids AVT, bike ride and etc is very expensive and it's rate is not worth it. Not to mention the AVT bikes + the AVT path looks very badly maintained. Because of that there was hardly anything to do while we wait out the rain. The convenience store is closed too!! The next town is 10km away. We actually drove out to get some basic stuff because the store remained close even after 10am. Another disappointing thing is the TV + Internet service. They advertised the facility but none of it is working properly. We called the technician to fix it but they failed to solve anything. We had no WiFi + TV service that is unwatchable. Thank god the jacuzzi was working and clean. The breakfast buffet was OK but again they insisted on serving their guest, only one staff to serve alot guest standing in line to get their food. On our second day hotel guest share breakfast buffet with golfers (tournament event) that alone had the place packed with people and covid sop is forgotten. Should have separated guest and golfers. The second day the food choices were better. If good side was the staff were very friendly and they helped us out regardless of the slow service. I understand covid had bashed the tourism industry and many people lost their job. Maybe this hotel is still on recovery period. The hotel needs a serious do over maintenance. And please inform properly in your websites which services in currently unavailable. Another thing to note is that the theme park is not located at the waterside Hotel + villas, its actually at the Riverine Hotel & Suites, so book that one if you want the theme park. Also that hotel is newer maybe the place is in better condition.
