This is a great place to break a journey north/south or explore the quieter parts of Cumbria. We had a very comfortable and clean room with the most wonderful views over a stretch of the river Eden and further to the Pennines. There are great river walks from the hotel including a delightful walled garden. Dinner was very relaxed with a good selection of, and generous, choices. Breakfast was excellent - better than some Michelin starred places we have stayed at. Everyone was so friendly and helpful.

We needed somewhere for one night. We didn’t want your usual 4 or 5 star. Warwick Hall advertises itself as a B&B but its rooms are magical, the views are incredible. Service is very personal. ‘Quirky’ if you like. Dinner was good, although a number of wines were not available. The honour bar is good value. Breakfast was excellent. I’ll be back to try the fishing.

What a wonderful break in glorious surroundings! A fabulous host and staff who couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful and the stunning riverside walk an added bonus… thank you!

Wonderful location and characterful building - we enjoyed the spacious Corner Room with views towards River Eden. The hotel welcomes dogs, some of which seem to be resident. Our room was clean and peaceful. We'd been advised that dinner would not be served on the evening of our arrival. But the chef evidently came in on his day off, so dinner was served after all. Unfortunately it turned out to be an extremely protracted affair and - whilst we wouldn't criticise the food - we felt our dinner as a whole was a disappointing experience. We also found it unfortunate that the gentleman in the office, whilst initially welcoming, seemed to be focused on other matters (wearing headphones and tapping away on keyboard) on a couple of occasions when we visited the office seeking his attention.

Quirky old country manor with so much character and charm. Warm welcome by the receptionist who was happy to provide recommendations for local restaurants. After tasting the delicious breakfast I regretted not eating there in the evening!

The owner greeted us on our arrival and was very welcoming. Stunning location, enjoyed the walk along the river and visited their private walled garden. The room was very clean and met our needs throughout.

The rooms were all very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and obliging. The food was excellent. It’s quite a quirky place but we liked that. Our only issue was our room was cold but heating a large old house is hard. We would stay again

Loved the Garden Suite - very cozy as was the lounge. Delightful flat walk along the river and around the huge walled garden. Slightly disappointed with dinner menu which was the same throughout my 4 night stay, the veg were plentiful but presented very plainly and seemed quite boring - cabbage tossed in a bit of butter with a sprinkling of black pepper, cauliflower with a sauce and carrots tossed with butter and chopped parsley would have looked and tasted better and more interesting than without any additions. Lots of dogs around which I like - but not in the dining room visiting you while eating. I was actually undercharged but left the extra payment before I left , Noone on reception so I hope they found the money on the desk.
