Essence Hotel Carlton

Alert! Don't stay at this hotel! Bad experience! Very unhygienic and rude service! The location is good, but the front desk service is terrible. We stayed for two consecutive nights, but there was no room cleaning service, and they didn't restock the tissues. So, I called the front desk to ask if they could provide some. It was only a little past 9 PM, but the phone rang for over two minutes with no one answering. Yet, during check-in, they claimed their front desk was 24/7, which I definitely don't believe they live up to. Absolutely terrible! The next morning, when I went down to the front desk to ask for tissues, I also mentioned this issue. Their response was incredibly poor: 'Perhaps the front desk staff were busy.' I find this completely unacceptable. Normally, hotel staff would pick up the phone and ask the guest to wait, but they didn't! And another infuriating thing: I told them we didn't have any facial tissues and asked if they could replenish them. The front desk staff told me they were out of facial tissues and gave me a roll of toilet paper instead... A hotel this big doesn't have a single box of facial tissues? That's outrageous! Also, the hygiene wasn't great; it was clearly visible that the shower area had rust.
