The Vagabond's House Boutique Inn & Spa Studio

It's such a gem. So much comfort, so quiet and the management is so attentive. Definitely a good place to stay with your pet. Far enough from the uproar of Ocean Ave, and at the same time so close to everything you want. The remodeling of the rooms is gorgeous, and give you such a sense of cosiness that you would be even tempted not to leave your room. (we were in room 3) Don't hesitate, go for it, but shush, don't tell anyone so it can remain the little unknown and untouched gem we like so much!

Just two words for this place . . . DO IT! It was far more magical than we could even imagine and all of our expectations were absolutely blown out of the water. Location is PERFECT. Straight shot to the ocean/beach (although it is just under a mile to get there, it was one of the closes hotels to get there by foot) It is located just one block away from the downtown area. So close and easily accessible to everything in town! Room #3 was perfect for 3 friends on a cousin's girls trip, it had a king bed and a twin bed in the window seat area. Every room has a gas fireplace that we enjoyed each night. The inner courtyard is beautiful and blooming with flowers, the fire pit would have been great to sit around had the weather been slightly warmer in the evenings. The Inn offers daily wine and snacks from 4-6pm and breakfast service to your room each morning! This was unexpected and so delightful. Room was large enough to accommodate 3 people. Bathroom was huge with two sinks/mirrors and heated floor that we loved! Randall was an excellent host and gave us great feedback on where to dine, etc. Parking can be difficult during the days (the have a small parking lot were 6-7 cars can park) otherwise you have to find on-street parking which gets a lot easier in the evenings and at night. Highly, HIGHLY recommend!!!

Love this little hotel! Perfect location - off the main road so quiet but walking distance to shops, restaurants and beach. Loved the upstairs room with fireplace and renovated bathroom. Very comfy and homey. The breakfast was delivered promptly everyday and delicious. The wine and cheese evening by the firepit was lovely at the end of the day. Can't wait to go back

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend and it was perfect. We loved the staff, the room (especially the gas fireplace), the breakfast, the location, and the outdoor common space. We would definitely stay here again.

We love this place! The location (walkable to fabulous restaurants and art galleries and shopping). Our room is large, stylish and the bathroom is Devine! The service has been great and very welcoming. Really love the wine and appetizers in the late afternoon/early evening… especially by the fire pit. What a great Inn in a lovely town.

We stayed here for 3 nights to attend a wedding weekend. Great location, near shops and restaurants, and also near a walking path to the beach. Management and staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delivered to your room and menu included eggs, granola, yogurt, bagels, toast, fruit, juice, etc. Coffee drinks available all day. Afternoon wine and cheese reception can be enjoyed in lobby or outside in the interior patio with fire pit. We Appreciated the environmental concerns…such as daily drinking water in glass containers, cloth napkins, and no single-use plastic at breakfast.

This quaint B & B just made the Forbes best places to stay in Carmel, and I couldn’t agree more. The rooms are so beautifully appointed and Randal makes sure that all the guests are well taken care of. You feel special here and the continental breakfast in the room is delicious. I also love the happy hour which brings the guests together, and the added bonus is that this B&B is in walking distance to the shopping district. Heated bathroom floors are another special treat:) Carmel by the Sea is a magical place and Vagabond’s House is the perfect place to make the package complete.

We booked Vagabond House in Carmel for my daughter's wedding the weekend of April 1st, 2023 . They were absolutely incredible to work with -Randall and Thomas took care of all of the bridesmaids and their significant others. Our girls could not have raved more about how special the rooms were, the happy hours and how much they enjoyed their breakfast in bed. The location is perfect and very walkable to town and to our wedding events. The firepit outside was the perfect place to gather and catch up after busy wedding activities. I give this precious inn and its staff the highest rating that I can. 5 STARS EXCELLENT. The cozy feel /vibe added to the success of the entire weekend. They were easy to work with rooming lists and late check -ins. Randall and Thomas we can't thank you enough for making our time in Carmel so flawless.

We had room 3 which was the family room. It worked very well for us, spacious, nicely decorated, large at bathroom with separate WC. The courtyard area is also a lovely spot to sit during the day or of an evening. Our main complaint was the breakfast set up, there is a real lack of choice over slots, we were told when. We arrived that we could only have 9.30am on the first day and when we tried to change it to earlier for the second day ( we had an early start), we were told we couldn’t. I went back to ask later in the day if we could bring it forward and we were then offered the 8.45 slot (not sure what had changed in the interim). However, it really felt as though they were doing us a huge favour. Also cheese and wine seemed to finish early so was no longer available at 5.30 on our first day. Overall the front desk could be more cheery and helpful.
