Carmel is a beautiful town and the hotel is in the town centre, so the location is perfect. Room was a little dated, but reasonably clean. On the night we arrived to check in, staff was super friendly and helpful. He gave us detailed instructions regarding our room and parking, also local restaurants recommendations. His service was a 5 star! On the morning of departure, we vacated the room and checked out at 9am. We went for a stroll in the town, and returned after an hour. When we returned at 10am I asked the staff (not the friendly staff helped us check in) if I can use a restroom. Knowing we just checked out, the staff bluntly replied there isn’t public toilet in the hotel, so we’d better use the one in the local park. When we asked if we could go back to our room to use the toilet as it’s still early. His said the cleaners were already in. We then walked to our car which was next to our room, only to find the cleaners hadn’t been at all. Zero hospitality, disappointed.

A surprisingly good motel! Make sure to book a room with a balcony; it's very cozy and clean. This motel, being right in town, is a world apart from those you find on the highway. The front desk staff were very welcoming, and even said goodnight in Chinese – a really nice personal touch! 👍

Lovely Carmel views. Clean and comfortable room. Early checkin upon request. Staff was professional and friendly. The site was well maintained with lots of blooming flowering plants.

The environment is excellent and very clean, plus it's conveniently close to the beach. It even comes with a gas fireplace, which was perfect given the significant temperature differences between morning and evening. Parking is free, and if the on-site lot fills up at night, there's plenty of street parking available.

Room was very dated and there was a strange smell. Very clean though and tea/coffee machine in the room. Free hot drinks at reception too. Some noise from the room above and outside our room too. The place was central to everything and there’s a pool on site. We went for breakfast at 9am and lots of stuff had run out and not replenished. We asked if there was more bread but were told no!

Great location, right in the heart of town, and only about a 10-minute walk to the beach. However, the air conditioning in our room was extremely noisy when on. Even when our own AC was off, we could still clearly hear the loud AC noise from the room next door. Furthermore, the soundproofing was terrible; at night, we could distinctly hear our neighbors talking and laughing. This might be due to the wooden structure of the building. The breakfast was a very basic American style, sufficient to fill you up, but nothing special. Parking was adequate, with ample spaces. Overall, I'd say the value for money was just average.
