Staff very rude . Rooms needs maintenance asap. Shower water almost no pressure. And if you want to sit on the beach beds be prepared to pay extra even though you are a guest. No other option. Food at their restaurant was mediocre at best. Plenty of better options around same area. Next time I will choose better

Extremely disappointing customer service and complete lack of empathy. Today I had a reservation at this hotel. Upon arrival, while getting off the boat at the dock, my wife had an accident. As she was stepping off, her foot got trapped between the boat and the dock, causing a deep injury to her toe. It was around 10:30 a.m., and due to how close we were, we went to the hotel seeking help. The hotel does not have a medical station, and the first-aid kit they provided was practically empty, with no basic supplies to handle an emergency. Given the situation, the hotel’s driver took us to a medical clinic, a service for which I was charged 150,000 COP. I later contacted the hotel to inform them that I would not be able to stay due to this medical emergency. Unfortunately, they showed zero empathy and refused to issue any refund. Please be very cautious with places like this: they are not prepared to handle emergencies and show no compassion toward their guests. I do not recommend this hotel.

Among best in the area compared to others. Enjoyed my two-night stay at Nena Beach Resort Hotel. Staff were friendly, breakfast was good, and has air conditioning and nice pool area. The walk from parking is tricky, and there are lots of local vendors trying to sell you. It’s a great spot if you want a nature-focused, local-living experience.

I will say that the only problem is the vendors outside the entire Baru are very pushy and at times annoying.

This is the best stay you’re going to get on playa Blanca and it’s still not great. We’re a late 20’s New York couple who stayed here for 2 days & 1 night in late October 2024. Thursday & Friday. I want to give this place a lower rating, but I wouldn’t want that to discourage people from going here if you’re already making plans to go to Playa Blanca. This is the best you’re going to get, but you need to lower your expectations. Our issue with this place is our issue with Cartagena overall. The harassment from vendors never stops. If I were you, I’d skip Cartagena altogether. We came here after reading about the vendors and thinking, “when we were in Mexico we dealt with some vendors but it wasn’t too bad.” It IS that bad. Its relentless. This is not a peaceful place to vacation unless you have private driver, private boat, and a private island. If you want to travel somewhere to party, drink, and do other “things”, come to Cartagena & Playa Blanca Baru, if not, vacation somewhere else. Again, this is the best stay you’ll find if you’re already here. Reception workers English is good and they are very helpful, going above and beyond. The food served here is also really tasty. The ocean is turquoise blue and very warm. That’s all the good I have to say. Do not Uber here. We made that mistake. Let the hotel arrange a ride for you. You’ll get out of the Uber and local vendors will grab your bags insisting they are from the hotel. They are not. They’ll walk your luggage down to the beach, claim you need to take a boat or walk 30 minutes. That’s a lie. It’s a 5 minute walk. Then they want money. We refused the boat and reluctantly handed over 20,000 COP. They wanted more. We grabbed our bags and walked away. I’d compare the rooms cleanliness to a 2 star American motel. Can’t except clean feet if you’re barefoot, room is not disgusting, but it’s dirty, bedsheets have stains that won’t wash out. Shower does not have hot water or a shower head. It is literally just a pipe coming out of the wall. Water was warm enough that it wasn’t uncomfortable in October. Air conditioner in room 204 is not responsive to the remote. Hard to change the temperature. We lost power and some point of our stay and were unable to turn it back on. The walls dividing the rooms are paper thin. You will hear your neighbors loud and clear and you will certainly hear the loud music that is played until 11pm. You might even hear the maintenance crew working on the hotel at 8am if you’re lucky like us. We chose this place because it has the nicest beach. Other parts of the beach are mobbed with people, boats, and rocks. This has nice soft white sand and plenty of room. We also thought the roped off sunbathing areas would keep the vendors away- ha! They come into the private area and harass you anyway. The ocean is warm and that’s about it. It’s filled with litter, reeks of fuel from all the boats, and too is filled with vendors. Think a swim will get you away fr

The staff was friendly. The place was not bad considering what they have to work with. The water did not work in either of the 3 rooms we booked. The showers by the pool work which is where we showered. We had to cut our trip short because of the lack of water in the rooms. If you book, my suggestion is don’t book for more than a day or two.
