My wife and I took a 6 day cooking, cheese tasting and winery tour. The staff headed up by Aleen was fabulous. Breakfast and dinner was included everyday and the meals were soooo very good. Every day was better than the previous day. And each day was very special. The one caution be prepared to walk including up and down stairs. We even went truffle hunting with a trained truffle hunting dog. This week was an experience like no other.

We were at the villa in early October 2023. One word- FANTASTIC. The villa's ambience and location are outstanding- very beautiful. Aileen and the staff are wonderful and took great care of us. All of the meals were exceptional. We were with an Edible Destinations tour. The day trips to nearby cities were all well-arranged and managed. Cannot overstate how great an experience we had.

My wife and adult children stayed at Villa Schiatti for 7 days. It was booked through a company that does food and wine tours. It was a great experience in every aspect. The hosts Aleen and his wife and staff were excellent. The food and wine at the hotel restaurant was excellent. The accommodations at the hotel were excellent. The tours, transportation and information was excellent. Aleen’s expertise in food, wine and Tuscany was top notch. I highly recommend this hotel, restaurant and tour.

Honestly, im not a difficult person. In all the years travelling I slept in many places. Some were dirty and dirtcheap, others were top dollar and delivered quality. You get what you pay for is allways fair. In my opinion villa Schiatti is not one of those places. We booked a ''superior'' two person room for 137€ for a night. If I pay a price like this, I expect everything to be perfect. The bathroom is old, from the look of it, it was constructed before 2000's. The shower cabin is this small that its a task to reach your feet. The door was squeaky and didn't close well. Also in some edges there was black mold, not much. It wouldn't be a big deal if I payed a reasonable price. But for this price I expect a very good shower that is clean from top to bottom, no excuses. To take something from the showerfloor, there is no other way than opening the door to reach it. In the evening we dined in the restaurant. Food was good, but we had a lot better for less money, even in small bars all over Italy. Hospitality of the staff was not great, but not bad either. After we returned from dinner, around 21h, we found that in the room the heater was permanently on. Temperature was 26 degrees. Upon calling reception they didn't know what to do immediately. We asked several times to fix it and eventually I went with them to technical space to turn it all off. By that time it was well past 23.30h. Eventually it got fixed and we could start to cool down the room with the airconditioning. Off course this is not what you pay for. If you want to sleep, you just want to go to bed whenever you choose. There is also a minibar, upon opening it there was a bottle of water that was 1/3 emptied by a previous guest. Reception kindly offered to switch this for us because cleaning had forgotten to check it. But its a sign how things are done... Tidyness could be better, dust on the closet, the mold in the shower. We even had some dead bugs hanging around on the ceiling, cracks in the paint Allthough the ceiling is made of concrete, we could easily hear the upstairs neighbours walking around. It felt more like an Italian appartement in a normal neighbourhood then a hotel. Breakfast in the morning was plentyfull and okay. When we checked out and staff asked how the stay was, we were honest. But allthough they were listening, we could feel there was no interest of doing something with this. They took 4€ of the bill of the restaurant and that was it. The whole place feels like it could use an update or a fresh wind. Conclusion: if I could turn back time, I would per direct cancel my reservation. We slept in places that were 50€ a night which were worth there money triple times. Almost feels like I was robbed.

Beautiful villa in a splendid location. The view from the terrace is spectacular and the courtyard with its fire pits is a lovely place to sit for an after dinner drink. The food was fantastic and the host/staff were so welcoming and helpful. Rooms were very nice. Our three night stay was the best part of our fortnight in Italy. I would highly recommend.

Very friendly and nice staff! The villa itself could do with a little refurbishment (and then they could probably charge double the rate), but it is definitely good value for money as is. I really want to highlight the restaurant/chef/waiting staff, which was GREAT. Some of the best meals I had in Italy. It was somewhat unexpectedly good, maybe because we just came from a more “luxury oriented” accommodation (that cost more than twice as much) only to find this somewhat unassuming place to be even better. The restaurant’s terrace view over the fields of Tuscany was amazing.

My group of four friends recently completed a 6-night stay at Villa Schiattì that was booked as a wine and culinary tour through Epitourean. Alain was a wonderful host and the guide/expert on most of our outings, and Laura made sure we had everything we needed. The chef, Christiano, was patient and gracious during our included cooking classes. The Villa has a jaw-dropping setting with a panoramic view just outside of Cortona, and the property has been lovingly renovated. Public spaces are lovely and the rooms are simple, charming and clean. Overall we had a fantastic stay, and can’t give enough compliments to the wonderful staff. Would return in a heartbeat!
