I chose Ashton Court due to its location. It’s not on a main thoroughfare and has its own beach and dock. The resort is modern and the grounds were kept up every day. The manager and staff were very accommodating and friendly and had a taxi waiting at the water taxi for our arrival. The rooms are cleaned daily, linens supplied as needed. We did not use the A/C until the end of our 12 day stay as the ocean breeze was sufficient. There was a smart TV with Netflix, YouTube, Apple TV and could support a fire stick. There was a stocked convenience bar but no microwave. WIFI worked very well. Breakfast is available from 7-11am and bar is open in the afternoon, I suggest their rum punch as the quality is better than most of the drinking establishments who skimp on the rum. There is a well kept pool to hang out at the end of the day. Back to location. Ashton Court is located east shore of south Caye Caulker. Not much through traffic and a nice launching point for adventures. Nice bicycles are provided or just walking will get you to your destination. Walk north on the beach path to the cemetery and cut across (it’t okay, the locals use it as well). You’ll end up on Avenida Hicaco which goes all the way to the split. If you go west to the next intersection, turn right and you’re on Avenida Langosta where you can shop at the Sky Market for basics or find great eateries like Raina’s, Errolyn’s Fry Jacks, or Smooths smoothie shop. All of these locations are five minutes away. The beach path has many eateries all the way up to the split. Staff provided us with great information for things to do and places to go. Water taxis to North Caye can pick you up at the dock. I will be back in the fall.
